Sonam Kapoor Ahuja and Anand Ahuja were pronounced mister and missus to each other on May 8, 2018. The lovebirds had a typical Gurudwara wedding in the presence of Guru Granth Sahib ji, following the Anand Karaj ceremony. Ever since the lovebirds have tied the knot, they are giving us some serious relationship goals. For the ones who don’t know, theirs is a long-distance marriage, which they are keeping up pretty well.
In an interview with Filmfare, Anand Ahuja shared how they make their long-distance marriage work. He revealed, “When it comes to marriage, small things matter a lot. We eat meals together, even if we are in different time zones, on Skype. We also actively make sure that we don’t go over two weeks without seeing each other.” (You May Also Like: Ranveer Singh Says 'Yeh Toh Meri Wali Hai' While Guessing His Wife Deepika Padukone's Name In A Game)
Recently, Sonam Kapoor and Abhishek Bachchan starrer, Delhi 6 completed 10 years. While the cast and crew of the movie were celebrating the occasion, Sonam’s husband Anand Ahuja too, took to his official Instagram handle and shared a GIF from the film. On the post, Sonam commented, “I can’t believe I found my *a bulb emoji* in you.”
To this, Anand replied, “@sonamkapoor - the first time I ever saw you ... on the screen... at #CinemaVillage in Union Square NYC ... your face looked familiar even though we had never met before ... it was my second year working and your second film. I hadn’t been home for a year and went to see the movie just because I was homesick, and the title had ‘Delhi’ in its name! I didn’t understand the movie completely but the connection it created with its audience was undeniable. This is the power of intention, energy and emotion - that you and @bachchan put so sincerely into the film. It’s something I learn from seeing you work till today.” (Checkout: Siddhant Chaturvedi Aka MC Sher Of 'Gully Boy' Is Not Single, Details Inside)

In an interview with Firstpost, Sonam talked about adding her husband’s surname to her name, and Anand adding her name into his. She stated, "Anand and I had a very long conversation you know, and we obviously want to have kids eventually, and he had this one friend who had a very long name, his mother’s name, father’s name, blah blah blah. I said, see anyways it’s a patriarchal concept, I have my father’s last name, I don’t have my mother’s name, and I want to be part of your family as well, and he wanted to be a part of mine.”
The Ek Ladki Ko Dekha Toh Aisa Laga actress further continued, “So first he said, shall I do Anand Ahuja Kapoor or Anand Kapoor Ahuja? And you do Sonam Kapoor Ahuja? I was like, that’s still my father’s name, no? How will my kids have my name in some way? Then he said, should I keep Sonam in the middle? So, I said fine." Sonam also mentioned that in future when she and Anand will have kids, they will have ‘Sonam Ahuja’ as their last name, "Yes. I don’t know if that makes any sense to you, but we really thought about it. If and when we have children, that’s how it will be." Talking about diving into work right after the wedding, Sonam was quoted as saying, “Yes. There has been a whole revolution with the #MeToo campaign where women are standing up for what they think is right and are asking for the respect they deserve. The team of L’Oréal Paris resonates the same thought I have, and they made sure that I was there, representing the brand, and women of worth on the red carpet. I’m also representing Indian women who know that they should work, regardless of anything.”
On sharing her thoughts if the times are changing as actresses are tying the knot at the peak of their career, Sonam had said, “People are still asking me these questions, which is sad. I don’t know if it’s changed that much. I know that Kajol, Dimple Kapadia, Nargis, Nutan and Waheeda Rehman have continued with their career post marriage. In fact, Madhuri (Dixit-Nene) did Devdas after tying the knot. But it’s still a long way to go. And we, as women, need to come together and be stronger. The choice shouldn’t be taken away. I hope to set an example by coming straight out of my wedding and doing what I do best.” (Don't Miss: Rajkummar Rao Shares The Sweetest Birthday Wish For Patralekhaa, The Love Of His Life)

Looking at my sneakers, he immediately quizzed ‘Arre yaar! Yeh kya sneakers phene huye hai tumne? (What kind of sneakers are you wearing?’. Then he requested me to stop wearing these sneakers and he immediately ordered for some good brand shoes for me, which were indeed very expensive as well.”
Wishing the cutesy couple, Sonam Kapoor Ahuja and Anand Ahuja a very happy married life!
