Anil Kapoor’s son, Harsh Varrdhan Kapoor, made his acting debut with Rakesh Omprakash Mehra’s romantic fantasy film, Mirzya alongside Saiyami Kher. Despite receiving a splendid response during the London Film Festival premiere, the film failed to leave an indelible impression on the audience. After this, Harsh Varrdhan starred in a few other projects, but did you know he auditioned for the Academy Award-winning film, Life Of Pi?
While promoting his debut film, Mirzya, along with his co-star Saiyami Kher, the duo sat down for an interview with News18 Showsha’s The Firstpost Show. During the conversation, the host asked the two to talk about their experiences of ‘bad audition.’ Revealing that he was rejected for the role of ‘Pi’, the lead character of the Oscar-winning film, Life Of Pi, because of his looks, Harsh Varrdhan said:

“I had a good audition for Life of Pi, didn't get the role because they wrote back saying he's too good-looking to play Pi because Pi is a character from Pondi (Pondicherry) from the south. I don't look like, and more like, I look from a more urban, you know, so that's kind of what they said.”

Furthermore, Harsh Varrdhan mentioned while he did not get that role, it led to another audition for an HBO pilot called Criminal Justice. He recalled that his audition went really well, and he also got trained for it when he was in Los Angeles. Harsh further shared that they wanted to meet him, but unfortunately, the show got pushed.
This clip was shared by an Instagram page, Bollywood Orryginals, and netizens took to the comment section of the video post to pen their thoughts on the same. One user said, “Whole sibling gang tell the same story. We are so good-looking to be good actors. Wake up !!!” Another one penned, “Hahahaha dono bahi behen delusional hai!!” A third netizen mentioned, “He's the male version of Sonam Kapoor.”

Harsh Varrdhan is one of those people in the entertainment industry, who doesn’t shy away from calling a spade a spade. Time and again, the actor has given back to the trollers who would make comments on his expensive purchases. During an interview with Mashable India, Harsh Varrdhan shared that he wished that people’s assumptions about his father buying him expensive stuff were true.
