So when the English cuts blend with Indian patterns, the end result is going to be simply mind blowing. This was precisely the effect that was created by the bridal collection put forth by Anjali Arjun Kapoor on the day 2 of the going Amby Valley Indian Bridal Week.
For someone who feeds off the tales of the past and present of London’s haute ton, the collection is something like a dream come true. The snug corsets revealing the right amount of cleavage, fashioned in delicate laces and nets and hemmed with Swarovski crystals looked stunning on heavily adorned full volume lehengas.
The A-line gowns were reminiscent of Victorian necklines and aptly justified the Indian figure and complexion. Cholis were essentially designed on the lines of corsets and off sleeve blouses and had lots of embellishments in the right places. The soft toned colors were representative of the feelings of a bride on her Big Day. The entire collection was hued in the best of colors: mermaid pink, sunshine yellow, powdery wispy blue, peach and moss green. Abundant use of georgettes, chiffon, taffeta, nets and satin gave the collection the quintessential bridal touch.
Well set diamond necklaces further intensified look of the dresses and so did the elegant bun hairdos. The panache with which Kangana Ranaut swerved on the ramp in her pink mermaid style lehenga was simply outstanding. All in all, the show was one of the major highlights of Amby Valley India Bridal Week’ 2010.
