The business reality show, Shark Tank India has been hailed as one of the most popular TV shows off lately. From interesting business pitches to investors putting money in their idea, the show has been leading the TRP charts. However, there have been reports about the show being scripted and one of the sharks, Anupam Mittal reacted to the same in a cryptic manner.
Taking to his IG handle, Anupam Mittal dropped a picture of a shark being surrounded by barking dogs and penned a note on the allegations that have been posted from time to time. Putting a sarcastic note, Anupam wrote:
“First it was ‘Sharks do not invest their own money”, then, “Oh, the show is scripted” and later ‘Sharks only fund profitable startups” Latest is - ‘Sharks don’t actually invest’. Ab next kya hoga?" Kuch bolo toh tommy, kuch na bolo toh bhi doggie… It’s a fact.”

This is not the first time that one of the judges of the show opened up about the format of the show. Once entrepreneur, Ashneer Grover addressed many accusations laid on the sharks as it was reported that they were paid a hefty amount to appear on the show. While speaking at Lovely Professional University, Ashneer revealed the amount of money each Shark had invested in the show.
Sharing shocking details about the same, Ashneer stated that none of the Sharks appeared in the show with the thought of making money. Revealing the enormous money invested by the Sharks, Ashneer shared:
“None of us went with the intention of making money. Let me tell you the truth, none of us made any money from the show. Some people said that we made Rs. 10 lakh per episode, but I’d have been happy with even Rs. 5 lakh. The concept of the show is very simple; they believe we have money, and they felt that we all have high-value startups, we’d be able to invest some money on the show. So, they asked us to commit to spending Rs. 10 crores each on the show. We said okay. We weren’t paid anything for any episode; in fact, we worked like bonded labour for hours and hours.”
