Anurag Kashyap's former wife, Kalki Koechlin was present at the wedding festivities of his daughter, Aaliyah who married her longtime boyfriend, Shane Gregoire, in a dreamy ceremony on December 11, 2024. Now, Kalki shared beautiful pictures of the newly married pair on Instagram on December 12, 2024. She posted an emotional note along with the pictures and highlighted the importance of ishq, pyaar, and mohabbat in her post.
Kalki took to her Instagram handle to share Aaliyah and Shane's wedding pictures. She posted a video of the couple taking pheras, which was all things beautiful. In her post, Kalki mentioned different quotes and proverbs on love, life and relationships. She began her note with a quote from Patti Smith's autobiography: "All I got is a bunch of stuff other people said. You’re ‘Just Kids’." The actress then wrote another line from Breakfast at Tiffany's film that was, "Two drifters off to see the world, there’s such a lot of world to see." An excerpt of her note read:
"So ‘trust your heart if the seas catch fire, live by love though the stars walk backwards’ (E.E Cummings, a favourite poet of mine) Remember ‘time brings roses’ (Portuguese proverb) And ‘nothing will work unless you do’ (the greatest of all, Maya Angelou) Don’t forget to ‘Lose yourself to dance’ (not-so Daft Punk) Or that ‘Love does not claim possession, but gives freedom’ (our one and only Rabindranath Tagore)."
Kaki, in her post concluded by penning a quote by Louis Armstrong that said, "‘I see babies cry, I watch ‘em grow, They’ll know much more, Than I’ll ever know, And I think to myself, What a wonderful world." She wished the newly married couple, 'ishq, pyaar and mohabbat’ in the world, like the theme of a thousand Bollywood films.
Kalki may have parted ways with Anurag, but she deeply bonds with his daughter, Aaliyah. She made a dazzling entry at Aaliyah's engagement bash. A video of the actress surfaced online that stunned the fans. Kalki wore a green dhoti with a deep neckline for the pre-wedding function and posed for the paparazzi. She tied her hair in a neat bun and teamed it up with a gajra made out of white flowers. She completed her desi look with dangler earrings, potli bag and heels. Kalki looked stunning in the green attire as she posed for the paps.
Aaliyah had worn a pastel hued lehenga with a choli that had heavy embellishments for her wedding. On the other hand, the social media influencer's husband, Shane, looked handsome in a cream-hued sherwani. The pre-wedding festivities of the pair began with a haldi, mehendi and sangeet ceremony. Stars like Khushi Kapoor, Vedang Raina, Ibrahim Ali Khan and many more were present. It was in August 2023 when Aaliyah and Shane had their engagement ceremony.
