Popular filmmaker, Anurag Kashyap was born on September 10, 1972, in Gorakhpur city of Uttar Pradesh. Never-ever in their wildest dreams, his family members dreamt that one day this little boy from Gorakhpur would change the dynamics around cinema in India. Despite being a student of Zoology at Delhi University's Hansraj College, it was during a film festival when he watched famous director, Vittorio De Sirca's iconic 1984 Italian film, Bicycle Thieves, that made him fall in love with cinema and storytelling.
After which, Anurag Kashyap decided to become a filmmaker and arrived in the city of dreams, Bombay, with Rs. 5000 in his pocket and the rest, as they say, is history. From delivering movies like Black Friday, Gangs of Wasseypur, No Smoking, Dev.D, Gulaal, That Girl in Yellow Boots, Mukkabaaz, Manmarziyaan, and the web series, Sacred Games, Anurag has become one of the most influential directors in the film industry at the moment.
