The firsts are special after your wedding. No matter how many times you have celebrated the festival together, when the tag of husband and wife is added, things start to make more sense. Aditya Seal and Anushka Ranjan had dated for more than 4 years before finally tying the knot on November 21, 2021. Their wedding was trending over social media, courtesy to the love dripping from their faces while performing the rituals. As the nation is celebrating Lohri today, i.e., on January 13, 2022, Anushka shared her plans for the festival.
On November 22, 2021, Anushka Ranjan and Aditya Seal had taken to their respective IG handles to announce their wedding. In the pictures, we could see the then-newlyweds looking perfect together in their pastel-coloured wedding ensembles. While Anushka had donned a lavender-hued lehenga, Aditya had looked dapper in a yellow embroidered bandhgala kurta and a white dhoti. He had paired it with a white turban and a matching doshala.

In a conversation with the Hindustan Times, Anushka Ranjan talked about her first Lohri plans with her husband, Aditya Seal, after their marriage. Anushka shared that they had altered their Lohri plans keeping the COVID situation in mind. Sharing that their families will come together and they will eat and do bhangra, she said:
“It will be the entire family coming together for Lohri. Aditya and I always want our closest people around. We would binge eat and do the Lohri bhangra. In fact, I have made a special playlist as well. We have altered our plans and would have very few people at the celebration now. If there hadn’t been a pandemic, we would generally invite as many as we can. This year, however, only close people will be there, and we won’t be out in the open for long.”
Anushka shared that the perfect way to celebrate Lohri is to be with family, cook great food and do bhangra with your loved ones. She also shared that her family makes all the sweets on their own and there is very little ready-made food on their Lohri celebration. Talking about what she feels about Lohri, Anushka added:
“I love the winters but unfortunately, we don’t have cold winters in Mumbai. For me, Lohri instils in me the love and care for Nature and the powers. Nature is symbiotic with us. The festival is about prosperity and it brings a ray of new hope and helps me to believe more in the natural powers.”

She also mentioned that she is not bothered if they had to narrow down their big Lohri celebration because of the pandemic. Anushka mentioned:
“The world is battling a deadly disease and we are in the midst of it. So, we have to make these adjustments and life goes on. At least we are all healthy and well and can see one another. So no complaints! I hope that this pandemic subsides. It’s been long and the natural processes are disturbed. It’s not showing any signs of stopping and that’s a concern. My prayers are that it goes away and we could live normally again. Life is too short to hate and that’s something we should all get rid of. Let’s come closer with each day and have more empathy.”
We cannot wait to get glimpses of Anushka and Aditya’s Lohri celebration!
