Amritpal Singh Dhillon, better known as AP Dhillon is one of the most successful Punjabi singers of the last ten years. The success he has achieved with songs like Brown Munde, Saada Pyaar, Insane, Desires, Dil Nu, Majhail, True Stories, With You, and many more is quite impressive. There’s no denying the fact that he has established himself as one of the go-to singers for the people, who are in love with Punjabi music.
For the unversed, AP Dhillon was born on January 10, 1993, in the Mullianwal area of Gurdaspur district, Punjab. After completing his education at Little Flower Convent School, he went to Baba Kuma Singh Ji Engineering College, where he completed civil engineering. Not only this, AP Dhillon flew to Canada, where he studied Business Administration and Management at the famous Camosun College.

After completing his education, AP Dhillon worked at Best Buy, which is a famous American company. However, he soon realised that it was not what he actually wanted to do. As a result, he decided to explore his passion for singing and music. It was in 2019 when AP Dhillon introduced himself into the Punjabi music industry with the track, Fake. After this, he released another track, Faraar, in which he joined hands with Gurinder Gill and Shinda Kahlon. Since then, he has never looked back and is currently inspiring many aspiring Punjabi singers.
While almost everything is known about AP Dhillon’s struggle story as the first season of his docu-series, AP Dhillon: First Of A Kind was released back on August 18, 2023, on Amazon Prime. Once, in a heart-to-heart conversation with Bollywood Hungama, AP Dhillon shared many stories from the time when he was trying hard to make a career in the music industry. While opening up about so many things, he mentioned an incident that had happened when he went to Canada. The singer revealed that he was searching for a hotel, and because he had no credit card, no hotel granted him a room. AP Dhillon admitted that he was devastated as he had nowhere to go, and staying in a hotel was his only option.
Further in his revelation, AP Dhillion shared how a brown girl helped him that night after she saw him sleeping on two suitcases on the streets. The singer added that she was so kind and restored his faith in humanity. As per AP Dhillon, the lady told her boyfriend or fiance about the singer’s condition, and he gave his credit card to him. He stated:
"I had two suitcases. I put them on the ground and tried to sleep on them. There was this brown girl, she came to me and said, 'Yo, you don't look like a homeless person? Why are you sleeping like this?' I told her the story. Then she went to her boyfriend or fiance, I don't remember, and said, 'Yo, give this guy your credit card.' And I remember that guy telling me, 'Bro, please don't steal anything, break anything' (smiles). There are good people out there."

After using the card, AP Dhillon thanked the couple. The singer admitted that it was a memorable experience for him and clearly sent the message that we should always stand up for each other. He said:
"At the end of the episode, I thought if we don't bring each other up, then who will?"
