Parenthood is such a blissful state to be that every newbie parent wants to spend each and every moment with their newborn munchkin. But sometimes amidst all of this, what couples forget to do is to spend time with each other. And newbie Tinseltown parents, Arjun Rampal and Gabriella Demetriades know how to whisk off for their romantic dinner date even after welcoming a little cotton ball in their lives. After announcing Gabriella’s pregnancy in April 2019, the couple was blessed with a baby boy on July 18, 2019, and lovingly named him, Arik Rampal.
For the ones who don’t know about Gabriella, she is a model from South Africa and also runs a women luxury clothing line, called Deme by Gabriella. The label is quite famous amongst B-town actresses and in fact, Mouni Roy, Kriti Sanon, Shraddha Kapoor, Malaika Arora, Neha Dhupia, Disha Patani, Amrita Rao and Lisa Haydon were seen flaunting Deme by Gabriella quite often at varied public events. Now, on September 1, 2019, the two were spotted in Bandra at an eatery, posing happily with each other. Both were casually dressed and looked their best. While Gabriella was looking gorgeous in a white shirt dress teamed up with denim jacket and a pair of striking red ruffled boots, Arjun, on the other hand, wore a pair of black pants, a white shirt and a grey jacket. Arjun and Gabriella know quite well how to spend time with each other even during Gabriella’s pregnancy and post-Arik’s birth. A few days before Arik was born, Arjun had taken Gabriella and her family for a lovely dinner date. Arjun couldn’t be happier than this as he got clicked with his then preggy girlfriend and her family. In case you had missed out on the picture, here’s a glimpse for you:
Talking about losing weight and her water breaking, Gabriella was quoted as saying, "I lost 11 kg as I was leaving the hospital, as Arik was almost 5 kg. Since then, I have been breastfeeding, so I am not on any special diet, but I am eating healthy and nutritious food. I never stopped working out anyway. My water broke while I was playing tennis." Talking about embracing motherhood, she had further gone on to say, "I was never one of those people who thought of having a baby. I am actually the youngest of my friends, and we would have conversations such as 'ok, is it time to have a baby yet?'. I would even look at people having babies and think 'I don't know if I want to do this'. But it all happened very organically, and it may sound like a cliche now, but it's the best thing that's ever happened to me. I used to think I was in love [with Rampal], but then Arik happened."
Gabriella had shared a picture of herself on her official Instagram story, 11 days after delivering Arik and talked about her weight gain. She had penned, “So this was me 3 weeks ago. A week before giving birth to my beautiful boy (almost 10 pounds of him) I had picked up 21 kgs in 9th month of pregnancy. This seems like a story everyone wants to hear. It was not easy to watch my body go through that, however, I trusted the process. I continued working out, not perhaps the same level of training I was used to but I worked out almost 5 days a week. I ate what I wanted but in moderation and I rested when my body told me to." (Checkout: Sonali Bendre Gets Emotional As She Opens Up On Not Being Able To Celebrate Ganesh Chaturthi In 2018)
In yet another story, she had talked about opting for the natural delivery and the fact that she is now concentrating on the health of the newborn. Gabriella had written, "I am blessed and grateful to have had a natural delivery and I have to say, the body is an amazing thing. I watched as I brought life into this world and I couldn’t care less about what I looked like doing it. We care so much about how we look and little about how we actually feel. 21 kgs heavier and I never felt better. All I really cared about is that my baby was happy and healthy. But now, I’m on the road to getting my old self back. I get asked all the time what my regime is, what I’m eating. What I’m doing."
It was in the next story that she had talked about her transformation and had gone on to write, "This photo was taken 11 days after delivery. It’s a long way from where it was but the body is an amazing thing. All I can say it, don’t stop your regime during pregnancy. Move, eat well and treat yourself every now and again. Prenatal yoga really helped keep my pelvic floor strong (Tanvi at Tangerine studio kept me calm and taught me to breathe). Also remember everyone is different and all good things do take time: so be patient with your body and your mind."
