In was in 2018 when Janhvi Kapoor had stepped into the glamorous world of Bollywood, carrying her star family’s legacy forward, and became the Dhadak of the nation. Since her debut, we have been waiting for her sister, Khushi Kapoor and cousin, Shanaya Kapoor to make their debuts in Bollywood to carry forward the legacies of the last generation and following the footsteps like their cousins, Arjun Kapoor and Sonam Kapoor Ahuja. Though Khushi is gearing up for her debut in the entertainment industry, Shanaya has already begun her journey but not as an actress. Shanaya became an assistant director to Sharan Sharma, who directed Gunjan Saxena biopic starring her cousin sister, Janhvi. When Gunjan Saxena: The Kargil Girl released on Netflix, Shanaya Kapoor’s parents, Maheep Kapoor and Sanjay Kapoor posted heartfelt notes for the beginning of their daughter’s journey in Bollywood. Maheep posted some pictures from the sets of the film and had written, "Learning the ropes #SweetestTeamEver #AssistantDirector #KargilGirl." Sanjay had proudly captioned his post as "I am so glad that Shanaya started her journey in this beautiful world of movies as an assistant director with you @sharansharma, You are an Extremely talented director and A super human being too, loved #gunjansaxena, looking forward to your next!"
A few weeks ago, Shanaya Kapoor had made her Instagram account public and since then, she has been delighting her more than 400k followers with stunning posts. From her candid pictures, fun-filled family moments to amazing belly dance videos, it won’t be wrong to say that Shanaya’s IG feed is absolutely LIT! A few hours ago, Shanaya posted two pictures in an oversized hoodie which she paired with sneakers. Revealing how her family helped her in the post and crediting her cousins, Arjun Kapoor and Khushi Kapoor, Shanaya wrote, "Styled by: @arjunkapoor clicked by: @jahaankapoor26 edited by: @khushi05k hehe #famjam."

A few months ago, Sanjay Kapoor had posted an adorable throwback picture of the sister squad of the Kapoor clan. Sanjay along with Janhvi Kapoor, Khushi Kapoor and Shanaya Kapoor could be seen cutting a cake as his wife, Maheep Kapoor stood by their side. The little sisters had their eyes stuck on their delicious chocolate cake and while Maheep was all hearts for the picture, Shanaya had commented on it, "@khushi05k ur ready to dive into the cake". To which, Sanjay had reacted with laughing emojis and Khushi had replied with heart emoticons. In 2019, Arjun Kapoor had posted a candid moment of his family from his sister, Anshula Kapoor’s birthday celebrations and trolled his siblings for their expressions in the picture. Pointing an arrow at Janhvi, Arjun had written, “Promoting ghost stories @janhvikapoor aka (Dewy)” as she sat on the sofa, wrapped in a blanket. Then, another arrow was pointed towards his cousin, Shanaya Kapoor, who seemed clueless about what her mother, Maheep Kapoor and Anshula were talking. Making an arrow on himself, Arjun had written, “Watching football” and trolling his cousin, Jahaan Kapoor, he had written, “@jahaankapoor26 wants to go home.”
Speaking about her experience of working as an Assistant Director, Shanaya Kapoor was quoted as saying by IANS, "After working as an assistant director, I realised how much work goes into making a film. I learned so much about camera lenses, close-up shots, how you get into the character, how you shoot an angry scene, and what are the things that actors do on the set." Revealing the reason behind her decision to work as an assistant director rather than doing a three year long acting course, Shanaya had said, "The best education you get is by being on a film set."
