Arjun Kapoor has had his set of failures with movies like Kuttey , The Lady Killer , and Ek Villain Returns . However, he has made a killer comeback with his performance as an evil character in Singham Again . Arjun is enjoying the success of the action drama film, Singham Again . However, did you know that the actor who is known to play macho roles in movies had mild depression and also has an autoimmune condition called Hashimoto's disease?
It was during an interview with The Hollywood Reporter India, that Arjun Kapoor revealed how he had battled depression. He agreed that he had his moments of self-doubt. However, one learns to fight. However, when movies do not work out, one keeps thinking about the same for months and years. The actor also said that being a fat kid created a lot of mental trauma for years and he had not realized the same.

The Gunday actor had revealed that he had started feeling negative. He had never been bitter or negative, but he had started getting pessimistic thoughts. Arjun remembered:
“I have never been a bitter or negative person, but it started festering inside me in a very off way. I started watching YouTube shorts to put myself to sleep. I started therapy and went to a couple of therapists who didn't work out. I then found someone who really allowed me to speak. She did diagnose me with mild depression at that point of time which is very circumstantial.”
In the same interview, the actor revealed that he had resorted to therapy to deal with his physical and mental health issues. He had undergone a dark phase, where he had to seek out therapy. Arjun revealed that he has always been someone who has taken responsibility for how he felt and never went to people to talk about the same. The actor quipped:
"I tried to deal with it the best way I could. The depression and therapy part started happening last year. This last one year was more personal than professional. I just knew something wasn't working. I had even stopped enjoying watching films. My life was films and suddenly I started watching other people's work and thought to myself, 'Will I be able to or will I get a chance?'
Arjun's life has been filled with struggles. The actor, who is not very vocal about his feelings, mentioned that he has Hashimoto's disease. For the unversed, it is an autoimmune disease that causes damage to the thyroid gland. It is almost like he can fly and gain weight because the body is distressed. In his words:
"My mom used to have it and my sister (Anshula Kapoor) also has it. I could see me and my body changing through the course of my films".
