Armaan Malik created a stir when he participated in Bigg Boss OTT 3 with his two wives, Payal and Kritika Malik. This is the first time a man has proudly flaunted his polygamous relationship on national television. There were certain claims that Armaan converted to Islam to have two wives because, as per the Hindu Marriage Act, one man cannot have two wives at once.

Armaan Malik breaks his silence on his religion

After his shocking eviction from Bigg Boss OTT 3, Armaan Malik conducted multiple interviews where he addressed rumours pertaining to his religion. Armaan was asked if he really converted to Islam to have two wives. To this, Armaan Malik said:

"I am Hindu, and you might be assuming otherwise because of my name."

Armaan clarified that he is a Hindu, and all the murmurs about his religion are due to his name. For the unversed, Armaan Malik's real name is Sandeep Malik, and he changed his name fourteen years ago for professional purposes. However, he set the records straight that he is a Hindu and has not converted to Islam.

Payal Malik revealed that Armaan Malik didn't convert to Islam

For those who don't know, before his marriage to Payal, Armaan had a broken marriage with a person, whom he got married at the age of 17. The YouTuber reportedly changed his religion and married multiple times. However, in an interview, when Payal was asked about the rumours of Armaan changing his religion to Islam, she called the reports baseless and said. This clarification is significant as Armaan's religion is a personal aspect of his life that many of his fans are curious about:

“That is not true, he has not converted to Islam. He belongs to a Jatt family. He is not a Muslim.”
