Arvind Singh Mewar is the name trending all over the internet after the prominent member of the Mewar royal family passed away at age of 81. According to the media reports, Arvind Singh Mewar passed away on March 16, 2025, and the news of his demise stirred the nation. The iconic businessperson and Mewar royal was battling with prolonged illness for some time. Talking about the details of his funeral, it took place on March 17, 2025, at his residence, City Palace, known by the name Shambhu Niwas.

As soon as the news of Arvind Singh Mewar's demise was made public, several politicians and renowned personalities poured their condolences on social media. Rajasthan's Chief Minister, Bhajan Lal Sharma, reacted to the unfortunate news of Arvind Singh Mewar's demise and admitted that the late royal member had played a significant role in lifting Mewar's glorious heritage. Not only this, former Rajasthan CM, Ashok Gehlot also reacted to the huge loss and prayed for the departed soul.

India's Defence Minister, Rajnath Singh, also shared a message on social media after Arvind Singh Mewar's demise. The BJP leader hailed him for being the descendant of Maharana Pratap and highlighted how he spent most of his life enriching Rajasthan. Rajnath Singh also added that the Mewar royal spent most of his life in public and social welfare. Arvind Singh Mewar was born on December 13, 1944, to his parents, Bhagwant Singh Mewar and Sushila Kumari. He was the couple's younger son and his elder brother was Mahendra Singh Mewar. For the uninitiated, Mahendra Singh Mewar died on November 10, 2024, and after four months, his younger brother, Arvind Singh Mewar, passed away on March 16, 2025. Coming back to the late royal's personal life, Arvind Singh completed his education at Ajmer's Mayo College.

After this, Arvind Singh Mewar pursued professional hotel management degrees in the UK and US. Once he had completed his professional degrees, he shifted to Chicago, USA, where he worked for some time in the hospitality sector. After working in the US, Arvind Singh Mewar returned to India and established HRH Group of Hotels in 1986. He converted five palaces in and around Udaipur into luxury hotels in order to form the HRH Group of Hotels. According to several reports, HRH Group of Hotels is the only luxury chain of heritage hotels under private ownership in India. Fast forward to 2025, and HRH has over 10 hotels and resorts with over 600 rooms across Rajasthan.

Arvind Singh Mewar and Mahindra Singh Mewar were the two sons of the late Bhagwat Singh Mewar, who was the titular ruler of Mewar. After Bhagwat Singh passed away in 1984, Arvind and Mahindra locked horns to hold on to the position of 76th custodian of the House of Mewar. Several properties were at stake, and after years of battle in court, it was in July 2020 when the court ordered Bhagwant Singh's entire wealth to be divided equally among his three kids, Mahindra Singh, Arvind Singh, and Yogeshwari Kumari.

Arvind Singh Mewar was married to Vijayaraj Kumari, who is the daughter of Fateh Singh. The couple welcomed three children, Bhargavi Kumari, Padmaja Kumari, and Lakshyaraj Singh Mewar. After the unfortunate demise of Arvind Singh Mewar, Lakshyaraj is the one who is leading the legacy of his father forward. From being the HRH Group of Hotels's executive director to transforming Rajasthan tourism, Lakshyaraj is trying to double his father's legacy.
