The Bollywood music industry was ruled by two sisters back in the '70s, '80s, and '90s, and those two female lead singers need no introduction. They were Lata Mangeshkar and Asha Bhosle. For those who don't know, the veteran singer, Lata Mangeshkar had taken her last breath on February 6, 2022, after fighting the deadly disease, COVID-19 for days, leaving hundreds of melodious songs for us to enjoy.
Asha Bhonsle and Lata Mangeshkar were quite close with each other. When Lata tai had left this mortal plane, it was Asha Bhosle who was devastated by the news. Asha Bhosle graced the dance reality show, DID Li'l Masters as a guest judge and got emotional while remembering her late Lata didi.

In the video shared by Zee TV's official Instagram handle, Asha Bhosle can be seen entering the stage of DID Li'l Master and touching her late didi, Lata Mangeshkar's photo with a handful of rose petals. Later in the video, we got a glimpse of a performance where two kids portrayed Asha Bhosle and Lata Mangeshkar's roles on the voice over that can be heard saying, "Lata didi jab tak aap ka sath hai mere jeewan mein rangon ki barsaat hai." As soon as the performance ended, Asha Bhosle got teary-eyed. She said:
“Meri didi gayi hai abhi lekin phir bhi mere sath hai."
After Lata Mangeshkar's demise, her great-niece, Padmini Kolhapure had opened up about how Asha Bhosle had been dealing with the news. Padmini's grandmother and Lata Mangeshkar's father were siblings. Talking about the same, the actress had shared to Pinkvilla:
"She is broken down. As much as death is the hardest truth or fact, we really felt that nothing is going to happen to her and she is always going to be with us. We are all shaken."

A day after Lata Mangeshkar's death news had hit the nation, Asha Bhosle had shared a fond memory of her and her late Lata didi. On February 7, 2022, she had shared a monochrome throwback picture on her Instagram handle. In the photo, the sisters could be seen sitting side by side as they posed for the camera. Sharing the picture, Asha Bhosle had penned a heartfelt note dedicated to her didi, Lata Mangeshkar. She had written:
“Bachpan ke din bhi kya din the. Didi and I.”
We wish Asha Bhosle can find her inner strength to deal with the pain and agony!
