Atul Parchure's Wife, Sonia: Shifted From A Bungalow To Two-Room Apartment, Left Acting For Husband

Atul Parchure, who was known for his excellent comic timing and for making the audience laugh with his acting, passed away on October 14, 2024. While no official statement from his family has been released, it is reported that he was hospitalised five days ago. Atul was battling a cancerous tumour in his liver. He was diagnosed with the same during an International trip in celebration of his 25th anniversary.

While the world knows about the most celebrated actor, Atul Parchure, not many know about his wife, Sonia Parchure. She was the pillar of his strength. Sonia Parchure not only took care of him and his family but also re-built her career to support Atul. Let's know more about Sonia Parchure!

Who is Atul Parchure's wife, Sonia Parchure?

Sonia Parchure is a notable actress. She has worked in Marathi plays like Saval Andharacha, Premachya Gava Jave, Pahuna, and Gela Madhav Kunikade. However, her performance in the film Aakka gained her many fans and was appreciated by critics. She left acting for her husband, Atul Parchure and took up Kathak as her career.

Atul Parchure's wife, Sonia Parchure, shifted from a bungalow to a two-room apartment after marriage

In an interview with India Times, Atul Parchure talked about his wife, Sonia Parchure. He shared the secret behind his successful marriage and credited his wife for it. Atul shared that before marriage, Sonia lived in a bungalow while he lived in a two-roomed flat.

After marriage, Sonia stayed with him and never complained. However, he would often tell her that he would get a new house for her. He was quoted as saying:

"Sonia's pre-marriage life was spent in a bungalow and I am a two-roomed man. But after marriage, Sonia stayed in that place without any complaint. At that time I confidently told her that 'we will get a new house as soon as possible'."

Sonia Parchure gave up her acting career and started taking Kathak classes for her husband, Atul Parchure

Atul Parchure revealed that he and his wife, Sonia, were in the same field. But after marriage, she completely stopped working in plays, films and serials. In fact, she rebuilt her career and dropped acting. Sonia Parchure started teaching Kathak and gave notable performances.

Sonia has choreographed many notable Marathi movies, reality shows, and events. She also started her own Kathak academy, Guru of Sharayu Nritya Kalamandir. She has trained many dancers, and apart from Kathak, she is also a trained Bharatnatyam dancer. 

Atul Parchure's wife took care of finances and home when he was hospitalised for four months

In the same interview, Atul Parchure revealed that his field doesn't have financial stability. However, his wife, Sonia's job had, but they never discussed who earns more. They kept investing money for each other. Atul shared that when he was hospitalised for four months, Sonia took care of the house and her career. He said:

"I was in the hospital for four months, then I stopped working for a year. So, till I was fully recovered, she took care of the house, her own career, giving patience to the whole family and in that situation she performed everything firmly."

Atul Parchure passed away on October 14, 2024, at the age of 57. He gave a tough fight to cancer, and his wife, Sonia, was a pillar of strength during the same. Atul Parchure also has a daughter, Sakheel Parchure, who is a fashion stylist.
