Jackie Shroff is one of the most handsome actors in Bollywood, who awestruck millions with his massive style. One of the most loved and respected actors of the 1980s and '90s, Jackie had no godfather when he started his acting career. Born as Jaikishan Kakubhai Shroff, Jackie appeared in more than 200 films in his career spanning four decades.
Jackie made his Bollywood debut in 1983 with the film, Hero and became every woman’s heartthrob. While Jackie captivated millions of hearts, it was his soulmate, Ayesha who still rules his home and heart. Jackie and Ayesha were completely opposite. He loved his tapori language, and she spoke fluent French.

But despite all this, Ayesha was head-over-heels in love with Jackie and was ready to leave her comfortable uptown life to live with him in a chawl. Before Jackie met Ayesha, he was in love with a girl, who had moved to the US for further studies. However, in her absence, Ayesha fell in love with him. However, Jackie thought Ayesha was only infatuated with him, and he told her about the other woman in his life. But Ayesha did the unthinkable and told Jackie that she would live with her like a sister, and that way, both could marry him.

In a candid conversation with Simi Garewal, Jackie recalled the moment and revealed that it was after that incident that he realised how much she loved him. Elaborating on the same, Jackie stated:
“I knew she was in love with me that much when she wrote a letter to an ex-girlfriend of mine, who was in the US at the time. She went away to the US, and she said she would come back and meanwhile, I met her and fell in love with her. So, I told her that I am in love with this girl who is in the US. And she is gonna come. Then Ayesha asked if she can write a letter to her, and she wrote a letter to her and said once you come back, we will live like sisters and get married to Jackie together."
In the same interview, Ayesha reacted to the incident and revealed that she had no other choice since she was madly in love with him and didn’t want to lose him. In her words:
“I just wanted him. If there was a choice between losing him and keeping with her, it is as simple as that.”
In an interview with Zoom Entertainment, Jackie Shroff’s wife, Ayesha Shroff, talked about the past, when her mother was completely against her decision to find love in a man like Jackie. While the duo was keen on getting married, their relationship faced considerable rejections from Ayesha’s mother, who wasn’t impressed with Jackie’s look and personality, especially his bad-boy image.
In an interaction with his daughter, Krishna Shroff, on her YouTube channel, Jackie Shroff recalled the initial stages of his love story with his wife, Ayesha Shroff. He recalled getting rejected by Ayesha’s mother because of his shabby appearance. Talking about the same, Jackie stated:
“I remember walking in the door the first time I was dating your mother and I was wearing an open kind of T-shirt or sweater… which had holes, as many as you can count. And then I had long hippie hair, and a moustache and black pants and… I must have looked like no mother would accept this guy. That was the reason she got pulled. (She was told) ‘What are you doing with this kind of chap?'”
Jackie Shroff and Ayesha officiated their wedding on June 5, 1987, on Ayesha's 27th birthday. The lovely couple welcomed two children, Tiger Shroff and Krishna Shroff.
