Ayesha Takia is best remembered as the ‘Complan Girl’ in the early 90s. After that, she got her first major acting break with the film, Tarzan: The Wonder Car, where she played the lead opposite Vatsal Sheth. Moreover, her remarkable acting stint in the film, Dor is still remembered as one which raised goosebumps in no time. She proved her brilliant acting mettle in films like Salaam-E-Ishq, Wanted, and Paathshaala, among many others. Coming to her personal life, the actor has faced a rough road to finding her soulmate, which came only after two failed relationships with the brothers of two eminent actresses.
Ayesha’s first encounter with love and romance came about when she was in a relationship with the iconic diva, Manisha Koirala’s brother, Siddharth Koirala. While she was tight-lipped about her relationship for the longest time, people eventually got to know about it. Staying in the world of acting, she was cautious of not doing any scenes that would perhaps ruin her relationship with Siddharth. In an interview with The Times Of India, Ayesha revealed her no-compromise attitude in refusing many films where she was supposed to do a kissing scene in scanty clothing.

Unfortunately, Ayesha’s relationship with Siddharth was short-lived, and the couple parted after a few years due to reconcilable issues Reportedly, their break up happened right after the duo gave themselves a second chance at their relationship. Nevertheless, even after parting ways, the duo remained best friends.
Within a few years, post break up with Siddharth Koirala, Ayesha fell in love with Ameesha Patel’s brother, Ashmit Patel, and the duo started dating. But, like before, they kept their relationship under wraps and away from media glare as much as possible and spent a few years of good times with one another. But, when in 2005, a viral video of Ashmit Patel and Riya Sen under questionable embraces of one another surfaced in the media, Ayesha walked out of the relationship due to such inconsistencies.

Ayesha became third-time lucky in love when she met popular restaurateur, Farhan Azmi. Their love story blossomed when Ayesha visited his restaurant in the suburbs of Mumbai. Interestingly, since both Ayesha and Farhan’s fathers knew each other well, the duo too, knew one another faintly. Frequent restaurant visits sealed the deal between Ayesha and Farhan. And by 2005, they even started making public appearances together. In an interview when Ayesha’s relationship with Farhan was the most gossiped topic of conversation in Tinseltown, the actress came out clear about her relationship status and heaped praises on her beau. She also gave a subtle hint at the sure possibility of her wedding. In her words:
“He is humble, modest and very hard-working. He enjoys his business and has a flair for it. He knows how to be a great friend and more than that, a great husband”.

After dating each other for three years, Ayesha and Farhan decided to take the nuptial plunge in December 2008. But, as contemporary political situations worsened due to the infamous Mumbai terrorist attacks, the couple had to postpone their wedding for a year. Finally, on March 1, 2009, Ayesha and Farhan tied the knot in a Muslim nikaah, due to which Ayesha converted to Islam and added Azmi to her surname. She was merely 23 years at the time of her marriage, which made people raise their eyebrows. However, the actress gave an apt response for the same, where she cited how lucky she was to find love. In her words:
“I never thought I would be married at 23, but that's the fun thing about life -- you don't know what is waiting for you at the next corner. I have been lucky to be with Farhan. Before I got into films I would paint, read books and do a lot of things, but due to my acting commitments, they took a backseat. But now I am back to all of it and I love it”.
Well, this unique love story that had the grandest celebration of love got completed four years later when Ayesha and Farhan embraced parenthood with the arrival of their bundle of joy, their son, Mikail Azmi. The birth of her son also marked her exit from the glamour world as she decided to take a long sabbatical and enjoy the time with her son and husband.
While Ayesha is yet to make a comeback to her first love of silver screens, especially for her countless fans who miss her presence terribly. On the other hand, Ayesha spends her time by living the best life with her family. Being an active social media user, she often surprises her fans by sharing snippets of candid moments which she enjoys with her husband, Farhan and son, Mikail.
