We have seen the transition of the birthday parties from having a get-together at home, with colony friends, cake, Rasna and fancy stationery as the return gifts, to the ones hosted at Nirulas, McD or a kids’ place with puppet and magic shows for entertainment. While there were 90s style of birthday parties, then a millennial way of celebrating and now, the latest one is the lockdown wali party. The quarantine birthday parties when we can’t go out, the props aren’t available outside or there’s no one to plan a party for us. All thanks to the COVID-19 lockdown! As Ayushmann Khurrana and Tahira Kashyap Khurrana’s daughter, Varushka Khurrana turned 6 on April 21, 2020, the doting parents had started planning for a quarantine celebration at home. Because of the COVID-19 lockdown, Ayushmann and Tahira couldn’t organise a grand bash for Varushka’s birthday, but they left no stone unturned to make it special for her. For the past 10 days, the Khurrana family, including the birthday girl have been devoting a few hours daily to plan a quarantine party.
A while back, wishing Varushka Khurrana on her 6th birthday, Tahira Kashyap Khurrana gave a glimpse of how they have been working on making props and décor materials by recycling stuff for the quarantine party. Sharing the video, Tahira wrote, “Happy birthday Varushka!! This is a unique lockdown birthday for our 6 year old! We @ayushmannk tried our best to make it special! Sharing the joy with you #daughter #daughtersarespecial #lockdownbirthday #recycle.” Ayushmann shared a selfie and wrote, "Happy bday Varushka! This quarantine is teaching us a lot. Using waste products and recycling paper for decorations for her bday. This bday will be remembered forever" followed by a heart emoji.
In an interview with the Bombay Times, Tahira Kashyap Khurrana had revealed since when they have been preparing for Varushka Khurrana’s sixth birthday bash in lockdown and how it was a fun family task for them. Tahira had stated, “Initially, we tried looking for vendors who could help us with items to decorate the house, but that didn’t seem possible. So, we decided to make these things on our own, and for the last 10 days, we had been devoting a few hours daily to this. We didn’t want Varushka to feel low on her birthday. Ayushmann played music to keep us entertained throughout the days of prep. On some days, he would sing cool songs with the guitar and on others, he would turn to his playlists. It was so much fun since it kept all of us engaged and together.” (Also Read: Sania Mirza's Son, Izhaan Follows His Mommy's Footsteps As He Plays Tennis For The First Time)

Revealing that she had baked six small cakes while Ayushmann Khurrana has kept his plans a secret, Tahira Kashyap Khurrana also shared that they have procured videos from their relatives and their daughter’s friends, wishing Varushka Khurrana on her birthday. Tahira had continued, “We are missing the presence of other humans around us. It’s going to be just us, but this birthday party will be memorable and special. I’m also planning a treasure hunt for the kids, so that they can have some fun. You have to find ways to adapt to situations.”
When Varushka Khurrana had turned 5 last year, Ayushmann Khurrana had revealed a similarity between him and his daughter in his birthday wish for her. Sharing an all-smiling picture of his baby girl, Ayushmann had written, “Happy bday my chota baby Varushka! Wanted to put a baby picture of her! Thank you for bringing so much joy! Iski bhi aankhein bandh ho jaati hain Jab yeh muskuraati hai Meri tarah.”
To wish her ‘bathroom stalker’ daughter, Varushka Khurrana, Tahira Kashyap Khurrana had posted a picture, engrossed in a conversation with the little one and had written, “We have eyes only for each other! My baby stalker got me this time. We lay next to each other and I wanted to tell her a thousand things as that’s what exactly I want to listen to. I want to tell her that there is never a need to be impatient, to dream as big as she wants, to never undermine herself, to believe in her inherent goodness and self-being and to know that she, just like me and just like everyone, is very special with her own unique purpose and mission. And that happiness is something we should always strive for... well these words are going to last as long as she lets me breath in the washroom but till then... yea... I mean all of this #motherdaughter #dreams #happiness #testingmomspatience #bathroomstalker #nofilter.” (Also Read: Kajol Posts Unseen Pictures On Nysa Devgan's 17th Birthday, Gives Glimpse Of Quarantine Celebrations)
