Ayushmann Khurrana's love story with his childhood sweetheart, Tahira Kashyap is one of the sweetest in B-town without a doubt. However, that's not to say that the couple's journey has always been smooth sailing. Given that Ayushmann and Tahira have known each other since the 12th standard, it's only natural for them to have had their share of ups and downs like any other couple. In a recent interview, Ayushmann opened up about the same and reflected on how becoming an overnight sensation caused him to neglect his personal life for a brief period.

Ayushmann Khurrana, who is much loved by fans for his versatile acting skills, recently sat down for a conversation with the Honestly Saying Podcast. During the same, the actor confessed that starting out in the entertainment industry at a young age made him neglect his personal life . Further revealing that his middle-class upbringing made him think he had to give his profession his all, Ayushmann said:

"I started very young when I took part in Pop Stars and Roadies. Coming from a middle class background, when you become a public figure, you just think you need to give your 100% to your profession. Your personal life takes a backseat. But, striking a balance is very important for family and relationships. I lost my mind after my first film."

In the same conversation, Ayushmann Khurrana also spoke about his relationship with his wife, Tahira Kashyap, back then and how it has evolved over time. The actor was asked if girls would flirt with him when he first became popular. Ayushmann responded by saying that Tahira was his girlfriend when he was in Pop Stars

Ayushmann further revealed that people would even question her choice and wonder what she saw in him. However, he added that it had changed with time. The Vicky Donor star then shared the lessons he had learned from long-term relationships, stating:

"The most important decision of your life is choosing your partner. The right partner can take you to heights, while the wrong one can destroy everything for you. Your life revolves around this. I have had a long journey from growing up in a patriarchal environment to now becoming a feminist. This could be possible because of my partner."

Ayushmann then credited Tahira for how he had grown as a person, saying that if women liked him now, it was because of her. Sharing tidbits of their journey together, the actor claimed that the key to any relationship was friendship. In Ayushmann's words:

"Now, if women are attracted to me, it is because of my wife. I have become a certain person because of her. We don't believe in materialism. We were in theater together. She used to write plays for us and I use to act in it. If the two of you love spending time together, it means you are sorted."
