Din Shagna Da Chadheya, Aao Sakhiyon Ni Vehra Sajeya, Shamiyaana Sajavan, Doli Leke Main Aavan, Aatishbazi Karaake, Tenu Leke Main Jaavan… The most beautiful moment in one’s life finally came into fellow wrestlers, Babita Phogat and Vivek Suhag’s lives on December 1, 2019. After spending some quality time with each on the dance reality show, Nach Baliye 9, Babita and Vivek became everyone’s favourite with their amazing chemistry in the performances. And it was on Nach Baliye 9 only when Vivek had proposed to Babita and it had made our hearts flutter! Babita Phogat and Vivek Suhag’s wedding functions had kickstarted on November 28, 2019, with her shaadi ki pehli rasam i.e., the baan ritual. For those who are wondering what this ritual is, baan embarks the beginning of the first ritual in a wedding, wherein the ladies or elders of the house apply haldi ubtan on the bride-to-be, a day before or a few days before the wedding to ensure that her skin glows on her D-day. Sharing the pictures, Babita had written, “Shaadi ki pehli rasam.” Geeta Phogat also shared a video of her sister, Babita, wherein the excited then-to-be bride could be seen showered with love and blessings from the ladies in the house. Geeta had captioned it as “Behen ki shaadi @babitaphogatofficial babul ki duayein leti ja.”
Finally, the day came when Babita Phogat and Vivek Suhag became each other’s forever and were pronounced as husband and wife on December 1, 2019. But do you know that there were only 21 baraatis at Babita and Vivek’s union? As per a DBPost report, Babita and Vivek’s wedding had only 21 baraatis and the lovebirds had taken one extra phera, apart from the saat pheres, which she dedicated to the ‘Beti Bachao, Beti Padhao’ initiative. Hailing from Haryana, Babita wanted to support the initiative that intends to curb female feticide in the country, which has led to a skewed sex ratio.

As a part of the wedding ceremony, Babita Phogat and Vivek Suhag had also planted trees, making an important statement to save the environment. According to DBPost, Babita had expressed, “Father did not allow us sisters to doll up, but today the wish has been fulfilled. Today I am very happy after becoming a bride. Very happy after wearing a bridal dress. When we used to go to the wedding ceremony of other girls, we sisters used to wear bangles and rings many times seeing other girls. But Dad did not allow. He often said that your goal should be just wrestling. When the goal is achieved, then do the makeup. The elated sister, Geeta Phogat was one of the first ones to share her sister, Babita Phogat’s wedding pictures. Wishing her sister an eternity of happiness, Geeta wrote, “My lovely sister @babitaphogatofficial Congratulations on your marriage. I hope that all of your dreams come true as you begin this new journey. Many many congratulations to both of you @suhagvivek @babitaphogatofficial.” For the wedding, Babita had looked mesmerising in an all-red lehenga choli and her look was accentuated with a choker neckpiece, heavy maang teeka and bangles. Babita looked flawless in minimal makeup.
Babita Phogat’s mehendi ceremony was held on November 30, 2018, and for the same, the then-bride-to-be had opted for an Indo-western outfit. Babita had looked gorgeous in a floral-print pastel coloured dhoti and paired it with a yellow crop top and layered it with the floral-print cape jacket. Babita flaunted the minimal makeup with her hair tied in a bun and the glow, flaunting her inner happiness. Babita’s brother, Dushyant Phogat had posted a sibling group picture from her mehendi ceremony and had captioned it, “Behen ki mehendi rasam @babitaphogatofficial.”
Vivek Suhag had proposed to his ladylove, Babita Phogat on national television when they had participated on the ninth season of the dance reality show, Nach Baliye.
