Aishwarya Rai has been garnering a lot of attention for the past few months after speculations about her separation from Abhishek Bachchan surfaced on the internet. It was reported that Aishwarya Rai was not getting well with her husband’s sister, Shweta Bachchan Nanda, because of which the actress lives in a separate place in the Bachchan home, Jalsa.
However, a few days back, Shweta sent a bouquet of flowers to Shrima Rai, Aishwarya Rai’s sister-in-law, on the occasion of Shrima’s birthday. The latter shared a picture of the bouquet on her social media handle and thanked Shweta and her husband, Nikhil Nanda, for the sweet gesture. Ever since, people have started gossiping over Shweta and Shrima's bond, and also stated that just like Shweta, Shrima doesn’t get along with Aishwarya.
Amid the ongoing buzz about Aishwarya Rai and her bhabhi Shrima Rai, let us look at the time when the Bachchans and the Rais came together to bless Shrima on her godh bharai ceremony. The rare unseen picture has Amitabh Bachchan, Jaya Bachchan, Krishnaraj Rai, Brindya Rai, Abhishek Bachchan, Aditya Rai, Aishwarya Rai Bachchan and Shrima Rai in the frame, posing happily for a family portrait.
The entire family was dressed in traditional attire as they came together to shower love and blessings on then-mom-to-be, Shrima. In one of the pictures, Amitabh Bachchan was seen blessing Shrima.
Coming back to Shrima Rai and Aishwarya Rai’s alleged rift, a few days back, a Reddit user posted a screengrab of Shrima Rai's comment section, wherein she was asked why she doesn't post any photos with Aishwarya Rai Bachchan and Aaradhya Bachchan. In response to the comment, Shrima advised the fan of Aishwarya to head up to the actress' page to get glimpses of Aishwarya and Aaradhya.

Shrima's comment on Aishwarya made the headlines and brought her a lot of flak on social media. In response to the hate she received, Shrima gave a befitting reply and issued a statement on her social media handle. In her picture note, Shrima revealed that she was a banker in Wealth Management for several years before transitioning to blogging in 2017. Shrima also shared that she has built an independent career and finds it in 'poor taste' when people try to manipulate reality.
Shrima met Aditya for the first time at a party when she visited India in her 20s. Their respective families played matchmakers between them. Later, Shrima married Aditya and settled in Mumbai. Born in Mangalore, India, Shrima was raised in Philadelphia, USA, and it was after her marriage to Aditya that she settled in Mumbai with him. Shrima gave up her lucrative banking job to become a digital media influencer. The couple has two sons, Shivansh Rai and Vihaan Rai.
In a throwback interview with The Asian Age, Shrima talked about creating her own identity apart from being known as Aishwarya Rai’s sister-in-law. Talking about the same, she stated:
“I do get respect for having done it on my own. I believe that the brand or public is not going to merely accept me because I am someone’s sister-in-law. Finally, for a blogger, it’s the content that matter. I rarely even post images from our family gatherings. I post an odd image of Aradhya (Aishwarya’s daughter) during Raksha Bandhan or an insta story that changes in 24 hours.”
