The entertainment industry is the brightest from the outside and the darkest from the inside, a statement that is whisperred and accepted even by the core stars of this eternal shining galaxy called showbiz. In the year 2016, popular television actress, Pratyusha Banerjee, whom we best remember as Anandi from the iconic show, Balika Vadhu had passed away by suicide on April 1, 2016. The actress was found hanging in her Oshiwara apartment in Mumbai and the 24-year-old actress had taken her last breath in the Kokilaben Hospital. Her suicide had brought a lot of controversies, and a lot of allegations were put on her boyfriend, Rahul Raj. Many industry friends of the couple had also claimed that Rahul was violent with Pratyusha. According to several media reports back in time, it was reported that Pratyusha had allegedly taken the drastic step due to her personal issues. She was in a relationship with Rahul Raj, and they were also planning to get married soon. However, trouble had reportedly brewed between them, which had led Pratyusha to take this step. Now, after four years, Pratyusha's boyfriend, Rahul Raj wants to move forward in his life, as he talked about leading a happy life and becoming a father in his recent interview.
In an interview with the ETimes, Balika Vadhu fame, late Pratyusha Banerjee's boyfriend, Rahul Raj talked about the impact of her demise on his life and stated that after more than four years of her demise, he has finally decided to move forward in his life and wants to become a father. The Mata Ki Chowki actor stated that he wants to embrace parenthood and become a father, as he had seen his friends enjoying the beautiful feeling of becoming parents. Thus, he too wants to experience it, he said, "I wish to become a dad, especially when I read about others or see my friends enjoying that happy phase of parenthood with their kids." For the unversed, Rahul Raj had gotten married to popular television actress, Saloni Sharma in 2018 and had tried his best to move forward in his life with hope and happiness. Going forward in his interview, Rahul also stated that although he wants to embrace parenthood, he's not quite sure whether he's ready for it or not, as he doesn't want to be selfish. He added, "But I feel till the time I don't prove myself, I'll have to wait as I don't want my children to be part of all the bad times in my life. But again, I can't be selfish so I feel it will be my wife's decision too about when to have kids. But abhi time hai."
Rahul Raj also praised his parents, wife, and family members, who had relentlessly supported him in all these years at every step of his journey towards a new beginning. He said, "My parents and wife have a lot of hope in me. And I want to keep them happy as they supported me in my hard times. They trusted me." Rahul also added that he also deserves to be happy in his life and wants to remember his past with Pratyusha only with good memories. He said, "Like anyone else even I wish to live a happy life. I also want to overcome my loss and move on with happy memories. No one wants pain and sadness in life. I'm married for two year but still waiting for the right time to start a family."

At the end of his interview, Rahul Raj credited his wife, Saloni Sharma, for being his constant-companion and helping him overcome the trauma since his late girlfriend, Pratyusha's demise, as he was accused of abetment of suicide. He concluded, "Since I got married, my wife has been part of my ups and downs. I'm blessed that God has sent her to be with me. After Pratyusha, my life became like a story of TV show. And I'm still struggling for my happy life, but all this while I'm standing strong and I realised how my family and wife are helping to come out of this pain."
