During their previous appearance on the show, Smart Jodi, Neil and Aishwarya had spoken about the extent of trolling and hatred they received, post their marriage. Neil mentioned how, unlike a strong segment of people who were over the board with happiness on their union, there was also a significant section of haters and trollers, who seemingly crossed the limits and said something intolerable, since they were confused with the difference between reel and real life of actors. In his words:
“Logon ke taraf se waise to bahut pyaar mile hai lekin kuch ek section of audience hai jo thoda trolling ke taraf zyaada rehte hain. Wahaan se thodi pareshaani milti rahi hai."

"I have a lot of trust issues. My past relationships were really bad. Be it relationships or friendship with my best friend, mujhe bahut betrayal mile hai life me. I would get very excited in little things… I am a very expressive person. That person would tell me, ‘Are you mad? Why do you behave like this?’ So he told me not to behave like that. And I listened to him. Slowly I realised, I stopped doing everything. I didn’t even have any self respect left. I became a puppet. After my break-up, I never thought of getting married ever. When I met Neil, things suddenly changed. I told him, when we initially met, when we were friends, ‘I am not happy in my life’.”
