Bengaluru Suitcase Murder: Father Of The Accused Reveals What His Son Told Him, 'Uski Maa Meri..'

Bengaluru police recently arrested a man for the alleged murder of his wife. The man, Rakesh, who hails from Maharashtra, is being accused of killing his wife and stuffing her body in a suitcase before fleeing to Pune. He was tracked down by the police using call detail records and is now in Satara police's custody. 

The accused's father revealed what his son told him after committing the murder

According to a report by India Today, the crime came to light after Rakesh called his parents and confessed to having murdered his wife. The victim is identified as 32-year-old Gauri Anil Sambekar. In an interview with India Today, the accused's father, Rajendra, revealed how his son called him and told him that he had murdered his wife, Gauri, after the fight. He revealed that his son called him in the afternoon and told him what he had done. He added that Rakesh had told him that he was going to commit suicide as well. Elaborating on the same, the father stated:

"Rakesh ne mereko dopahar ko call kiya tha, vo raat ko 12 bjey nikla. Usney mereko bola sabko bol do, uski maa ko bol do ki maine aaisa kiya hai. Usney bola Bengaluru mei bhi sabko bol do. Usney mereko bataya ki usney aaisa kiya hai aur bola 'mai bhi suicide karne waala hu. Mai zinda nahi rahunga'. Maine usko bola aaisa mat karna tu. Tu idhar aa, hum police station mei jaayenge, unko boldenge ki aaise aaise hua hai. Toh vo bola theek hai lekin ussey pehle hi vo police station chala gaya."

The accused's father revealed that Gauri's mother is his biological sister

In the same conversation, Rajendra revealed that his son, Rakesh, had called him and shared that he and Gauri had a really heated argument when he allegedly killed her. He also shared that Rakesh had also called Gauri's mother and shared how her daughter was treating him. During the conversation, Rajendra also revealed that Gauri was his niece and her mother was his biological sister. He stated:

"Mere ladkey ka phone aaya ke maine aaisa aaisa kiya hai, vo jhagda kar rahi thi mere saath. Do din-chaar din pehle ladki ki maa ko bhi usney call kiya tha ki mereko bohot takleef de rahi hai. Toh uski maa ne bhi usko samjhaya tha. Uski maa jo hai ladki ki, vo meri sagi been hai, aur ladki mere sagi bhanji hai. Jo kuch bhi hua hai usney bohot takleef diya hai."

The accused's father revealed why they didn't stop Rakesh and Gauri from getting married

In the same conversation, Rajendra revealed that Rakesh and Gauri used to fight almost every day, and the victim was a 'circuit'. The interviewer asked him why he didn't forbid them from getting married. Responding to the same, he shared that they had waited for over four years, trying to convince them not to get married. He was quoted as saying:

"Uska roz ka ladney ka tha, vo circuit jaise hotey hai waise thi. Humeny shaadi ke liye mana kiya tha. Chaar saal ruk gaye the lekin vo ek doosrey ko chodhney ko ready nahi the."

Rakesh murdered his wife after a heated argument

According to police sources, Rakesh and Gauri had frequent arguments. There are also reports that the victim had physically assaulted him during fights. However, when their heated exchange escalated on March 26, 2025, Rakesh stabbed Gauri in the stomach and slit her throat. The police further revealed that the accused had stuffed Gauri's body into a suitcase after committing the murder. It was further shared that he left the bag in the bathroom before escaping to Pune.
