Famous Indian comedian, Bharti Singh, who is also a National-level rifle shooter, appeared on her best friend, Debina Bonnnerjee's podcast. In a heart-to-heart tete-e-tete, Bharti talked about her life so far and shared how her mother gave birth to her in just Rs. 60. For the uninitiated, Bharti is one of the first female comedians who made a mark on television by cracking jokes on her own body.
Recently, on Debina Bonnerjee's show, Bharti revealed that when she got pregnant, she decided she wouldn't disturb anyone, as she had seen her mother, and she had never disturbed anyone. Bharti revealed that her mother was all alone when she gave birth to her. She only called dai mai to cut the umbilical cord for just Rs. 60. She said:
"Mai ne bola tha mai kisi ko tang nahi karugi kyunki mai ne apni mummy ko dekha tha. Unhone tang nai kra kyunki mai meri mummy ka khud ka paida kiya hua bacha hoon. Vo akeli thi, bas vo cord katne ke liye dai ko bulaya tha jisne 60 rupay liye the. Toh mai 60 Rs ka bacha hoon."

During the same podcast, Bharti revealed that her parents didn't want her to give birth to her as she was the third child. Her parents already had two daughters. Bharti revealed that her mother tried to eat medicine and did everything to not have her. She was quoted as saying:
"Mai anchaha bacha thi. Pehle 2 bache the unke, teesra nahi karna chahti thi, par hogya kya krein. Vo Dawaiya khaa leti thi, Khajur kha leti thi. Par mai ne duniya mein aana tha, toh mai aa gayi."
Bharti revealed that she never talked about it, but to raise her and her siblings, her mother worked as a housekeeper at other people's homes. People would make her mother do the household chores. Bharti would see her while she played with broken toys in the corner.

Bharti and Haarsh first met on the sets of Comedy Circus, where Bharti was one of the contestants and Haarsh was the scriptwriter. While it wasn't 'love at first sight', they felt connected when working together. In fact, when Haarsh expressed his love for her, Bharti didn't reply to him for three days. She was scared of what people would think about her. After Haarsh established himself in the showbiz, they tied the knot in 2017. The couple embraced parenthood with the arrival of their baby boy, Laksh, in 2022.
Sudesh Lahiri noticed Bharti Singh during her college days. However, it was Kapil Sharma who recognised her talent and asked her to audition for the show The Great India Laughter Challenge. While Bharti wasn't able to win the show, she left a great imprint on her fans' hearts with her character, 'Lalli'. After that, there wasn't any looking back, and Bharti became a popular host of every hit reality show.
