Bhumi Pednekar has already made a niche for herself in the film industry. Coming to her personal life, she is a complete family woman, and proof of the same is often found. For the unversed, the actress was only 18-years-old when she lost her father, Satish Pednekar, who was a former MLA and Home and Labour Minister of Maharashtra. Since his demise due to oral cancer, Bhumi's mother, Sumitra Pednekar, has been working as an anti-tobacco activist and looking after her daughters.
Now, we stumbled upon an old video of the Dum Laga Ke Haisha actress, wherein she once talked about her father's immense support to her when she had her first period. It was during Bhumi's collaboration with the brand, Whisper, for one of its campaigns to raise awareness about the taboos related to menstruation in society. Bhumi was very close to her father. While talking about the moment she got her first period, the actress recalled how her mother was not available at home at that time. Thus, she started feeling quite uncomfortable and was scared due to the same. However, soon, she remembered what her parents taught her about the same topic.

Bhumi then went to her father, Satish, who consoled her and took care of her during that time. Bhumi mentioned that Satish threw a grand party to celebrate the onset of her menstrual cycle, which motivated her to be the best. The actress also mentioned how her father pressed her feet and prepared a hot water bottle for her, and he was also the one who bought the first pack of sanitary napkins for her. Thus, Bhumi mentioned how lucky she was to have a father like him, and she can never forget that day ever in her life.
Every year on Satish Pednekar's birth anniversary, his close ones never miss a chance to remember him. For instance, once on May 19, 2020, Bhumi Pednekar took to her IG handle to share a series of pictures of her dad and penned a long note to mark his special day. Bhumi bared her heart out and talked about how much she misses her father. The doting daughter revealed how she finds him in everything she does, and shared how her mother still blushes remembering her husband. Bhumi then recalled all the festivals and how her family misses her father at every occasion. She wrote:
“Happy birthday Papa. I miss you everyday, every minute and every second... But then, I see you everywhere ... When I look at myself, my eyes just like yours... When samu smiles, her smile is full of that same mischief ... When we trouble mom and she says - you both are just like Satish. When we do some good, she says - you both are just like Satish.”

The actress then reminisced about all the small things that made her miss her father even more and how he was a doting father to her and her sister. The actress finally concluded by talking about a few of the good things her father taught her and if he was here to see everything. She further added:
“I remember each morning that you woke me up with that bitter karela juice, all the sour world news and your sweet sweet smile. I remember each night that you stayed up with me during my exams... I remember every-time you fed me with yours hands... Every-time you prepared that hot water bottle for my cramps... And now I know you knew it all, you let me make my mistakes cause you knew life was short. Every cricket and football match that we watched... Every birthday of ours, where you made us feel like we were gods ... Every failure of ours was celebrated and every success learnt from. You taught us to love all and made us strong. Every time they say,you both are just like Him. I miss you even more cause I wish you could have seen the ‘You’, that we have become.”
