Manisha Rani celebrated her Bihari roots as she posed in a gorgeous saree on the occasion of Chhath Mahaparv. The dancer shared some pictures on her Instagram handle, dressed as a bride in a beautiful red and green saree, adorned with a gold necklace, nose ring, and maang teeka.

Manisha completed her look with matching bangles and sindoor. She posed on the beach with a soup in her hands. Manisha took to her Instagram handle and shared her pictures and her love for the festival. She posted the pictures wishing everyone a happy Chhath and expressed how it is the love of all Biharis. She captioned the post as:
"Hum Bihariyon ka pyaar hai Chhath Puja. Happy Chhath puja to everyone."
As soon as Manisha posted the pictures on Instagram, the internet was split in two. While many praised and showered the dancer with affection for owning up to her roots, others called her out for applying sindoor without getting married. In Bihar, sindoor or vermilion is applied from the nose up as a symbol of good luck and love. Manisha Rani has also shared a reel to celebrate the occasion of Chhath.

The post which has 1.1 million likes has mixed reactions from Manisha's fans. Some complimented the dancer for her radiant look. However, some users expressed their unease with Manisha's use of vermillion for the photos. They felt like the dancer, ridiculed the significance of sindoor, its symbolism and the festival.
Manisha Rani was born in a middle-class family in the Munger District of Bihar. She ran away from her hometown to Kolkata, where she learned how to dance. The dancer did various small jobs including working as a waitress and background dancer to support herself before moving to Mumbai. However, moving to Mumbai was not the end of her struggles, Manisha struggled for 9 years before she rose to fame with Bigg Boss OTT 2.
Manisha Rani started her journey with the fifth season of the popular dance show, Dance India Dance. However, was evicted in the first round. She did not give up on her ambitions and played a small role in &TV 2020 serial, Gudiya Humari Sabhi Pe Bhari, where she played the role of the female lead 'Gudiya's best friend. After nine years of struggle, she finally got a chance to introduce herself to the country with the reality show, Bigg Boss OTT 2. The dancer has over the years established herself as an entertainer and has 13 million followers on Instagram.
