It was in 2015, when Bipasha Basu had fallen in love with her Alone co-star, Karan Singh Grover and a year later, the ‘Monkey lovers’ had tied the knot as per Bengali rituals. On April 30, 2016, B-town’s diva and television’s heartthrob had become ‘one’ and had started knitting their ‘monkey diaries’! Alone marked to be Bipasha’s last film before marriage and she had taken a sabbatical of five years only to return in 2020 with a web series, Dangerous, co-starring her husband, Karan.
During a promotional interview with MissMalini, Bipasha Basu Singh Grover revealed why she had taken a break from work post her wedding with Karan Singh Grover. While we expected a generic ‘waiting for the right script’ kinda reply from Bipasha, she candidly explained how it was a well-deserved break for her. Bipasha said, “I have to say that I have always been a follower of love yourself and satisfy your needs first. For me after my marriage, it was a decision that you know, I’ve been working from the age of 15 as a model and 19 as an actor. So, I had decided that I’m not going to work for a while and just sit back, chill and enjoy the perks of the life that I worked so hard for, and it kind of happened.”
Revealing that this sabbatical had helped her spend quality time with her parents and her husband, Karan Singh Grover, which she had missed on due to her busy schedule, Bipasha Basu Singh Grover continued, “There was no timeline as such. I kept on saying few months, few more months and I’ll do something. But in the meantime, I was doing events and performances. Both were still on… So were endorsements. So, I really didn’t think that it’s such a long gap and I really liked spending quality time with my husband and my mom and dad which I’ve never done before. You know, I’ve never given time to my parents so much because I was always too busy. My father retired after my wedding and we all got a lot of quality time as a family together. So, I guess you know, I just lost track of time. But from the last one month? I’m very very aware and alert and ready to work and I’m missing the set after a very long time and yeah, I’m going to be working more for now.” (Also Read: Bipasha Basu Reminisces Her New Year's Proposal Planned By Her Hubby, Karan Singh Grover)
