The iconic cricketer was born on September 25, 1946, in Amritsar, Punjab. Whether we talk about his bowling style or his artistry on the ball, he was an absolute legend of the game. The iconic slow left-arm orthodox bowler played 67 Tests and took 266 wickets. Not only this, Bishan Singh also featured in 10 ODIs and got seven wickets to his name.

As per multiple reports, Bishan Singh Bedi finished his cricket career with 1560 wickets in first-class cricket, which is more than any other Indian player ever. It was back in 1967 when Bishan Singh made his international debut during the 2nd Test match against Australia at Eden Gardens. The cricketer also won two Ranji trophies with Delhi in 1978-79 and 1979-80.

The iconic cricketer, Bishan Singh Bedi was one of the members of the Indian spin quarter, a group of spin bowlers, who used to dominate world cricket with their bowling abilities. The group included the likes of Erapalli Prasanna, Srinivas Venkataraghavan, Bhagwat Chandrasekhar and Bishan Singh Bedi. The Indian spin quarter was a force to be reckoned with between the 1960s and 1970s. Among them, they played 231 Tests and took 853 wickets, which clearly proves why their group was recognised as one of the most lethal and deadly bowling combinations in world cricket.

It was back in 2019 when Indian cricketer, Gautam Gambhir took to his X (Formerly known as Twitter) account and accused Bishan Singh Negi of allegedly trying to push his son, Angad Bedi, into Delhi's team. Not only this, he also accused Chetan Chauhan of allegedly doing the same for his nephew.

The allegations created a stir in the news back then, as accusations like this from a player of Gautam Gambhir's stature were quite a serious matter. In response to it, Bishan Singh and Chetan Chauhan denied doing anything ethical and turned down all the rumours of the same.
