Bobby Deol has been living a fantastic period of his career in the recent times, ever since he gave an enthralling performance in Sandeep Reddy Vanga's directorial, Animal. Apart from the commercial success, the film has yet again set the actor on the pedestal of immense love and success. Moreover, for an actor who is most prominently remembered for his chocolate boy looks and heroic roles, Bobby definitely did something out of the box and treated his fans with an exceptional performance.
In an interview with Man’s World India Magazine, Bobby Deol was asked whether his decline of stardom early on in his career helped him to become the actor that he is now. In response, the actor remarked that stereotypically essaying the role of a hero is quite boring. He revealed witnessing so many of his contemporaries who are big stars and have gotten stuck with the same image again. In his words:
“Being the star, playing the hero is so boring. I look at some of my friends and contemporaries, who are big stars, and see that they have gotten stuck in their image. The market will not let them experiment, the audience will not accept them if they do, and this in turn makes them too insecure to try anything different. I often tell my brother [Sunny Deol] that bhaiyya you should do something different. But he explains that he can’t because his image is so strong. He is stuck with it. He can’t break out of his star image. But I am lucky that way; I could do it.”

Previously, in an interaction at The Film Companion Actors’ Adda, Bobby Deol talked about doing a brutal and villainous role in his latest film, Animal. The actor revealed that he was able to perform such a role by only thinking about his family and picturising them in the plot of the film. He mentioned how the Deol family are emotional and it was quite difficult for him to picturise them.
