Bobby Deol has been grabbing the headlines for some time now. The actor made his comeback after many years with Sandeep Reddy Vanga’s film, Animal. Ever since the trailer of the film was released, people were simply hooked to the savage look Bobby carried for his role in the film. Moreover, it was also his brilliant physical transformation that swooned audiences. Well, for an actor who has been most notably recognised for his romantic boy looks in films, his appearance in Animal was surely unprecedented.
In an interview with Pinkvilla, Bobby Deol talked about his mother, Prakash Kaur’s reaction to his role in the recently-released film, Animal. The actor revealed that while his mother wasn’t really happy with the look he undertook for the movie, he also shared how she didn’t like the scene when his on-screen character died. Recalling Prakash Kaur’s words, Bobby said:
“My mom was like, aisi film mat kiya kar tu, mujhse nahi dekha jaata. I told her, 'Look, I'm standing in front of you; I just played a part'. But she's very happy. The amount of phone calls she's getting; all her friends want to meet me. Something similar happened when Aashram released.”

In one of his previous interviews with PTI, Bobby Deol opened up about essaying a key role in Sandeep Reddy Vanga’s film, Animal. However, as compared to the length of the movie, he only had a very brief appearance in the film. Speaking along the same lines, Bobby mentioned:
“I wish I had more secens, but when I signed the film, I knew this is what I had. At that point in my life, I was grateful to God that I was given this chance to play this role by Sandeep. I knew I had only 15 days of work and wouldn’t be there throughout the film. I was sure people would notice me, but I never realized that there will be so much love, appreciation and affection. It’s like wow! It’s amazing."
Earlier, during a press meet for his latest film, Bobby Deol talked about essaying a negative role in Animal for the first time. When asked if he took any advice from his father, Dharmendra or brother, Sunny Deol before doing so, he revealed that neither of the two of them ever played any antagonistic role. Moreover, he emphasised that even his father, Dharmendra was known for his heroic, action-based roles.

During his appearance on the chat show, Koffee With Karan 8, Bobby Deol talked about the lowest phase of his career, when he couldn’t get any work opportunities. He revealed that back at that time, he was indulged in excessive drinking, post which he started to pity himself. In his words:
“I gave up, I started pitying myself. I just took on drinking a lot, I was sitting at home. I used to keep cursing and saying, why don't people take me? I am good, why don't they want to work with me? I think I became so negative about everything, that there was no positiveness coming from me. I used to sit at home, my wife works."
