Bobby Deol may have belonged to a filmy family, but that didn't make his journey in the industry any easier. After early success with his debut film, Barsaat (1995), Bobby released several films, with both hits and flops in the mix. However, from 2004 onwards, the actor's films failed more often, even when critics praised his performance. This led to Bobby going on a three-year hiatus from 2014 to 2017. The actor made a comeback in 2017 with Poster Boys, only for it to tank miserably. Nevertheless, Bobby kept at his craft, garnering praise from critics for a few performances. Bobby's career hit a massive turning point with the Ranbir Kapoor-starrer, Animal (2023). Recently, the actor opened up about how his career hardships impacted his family.
Bobby Deol recently had a heartfelt conversation with SCREEN, during which he recalled the hardships he had faced in his professional life. The actor broke down in tears while talking about how his family was impacted by his struggles. Bobby revealed that because his family was so close-knit and lived under the same roof, they would see his pain every day. In turn, this would cause them pain as they couldn't help him. In Bobby's words:
"I did put them through hardship, my family. We are so close-knit, we live together and I know that they were going through pain by seeing me go through pain and there is nothing they could have done."
Bobby Deol's older brother and superstar, Sunny Deol, was also part of the candid conversation. He consoled his younger brother as the latter let his tears flow while thinking about the tough times he had experienced. It is worth noting that Sunny made his own comeback not too long ago with Gadar 2 in 2023. Bobby added to what he said earlier with the words:
"That's the whole thing. Don't give up in life."
Well, Bobby truly lived by his own words. Both critics and audiences lauded his comeback as the mute psychopath, 'Abrar Haque' in Animal. Despite having minimal dialogues in the film, Bobby's ability to add a menacing air to every scene he was in left everyone in awe and became a standout moment in his long career in the film industry. That said, it is unclear at present whether fans will get a chance to see him in the film's sequel.
Earlier, Bobby Deol had poured his heart out in an interview with the Humans Of Bombay. The actor confessed that he turned to alcohol as a coping mechanism while struggling to find work in Bollywood. However, the actor revealed that it was important not to dwell on past mistakes as valuable lessons could be learnt from every challenge in life. Bobby further added:

"Everybody feels weak, everybody feels they can't… it is so difficult… that you can't come out. It's like you are drowning and people let themselves drown. I think everybody can swim out of it. I think there are small things here and there… suddenly there will be a switch turned out and you are like, 'I can do it!' For me it was everybody around me in my house who were so worried about me. They would keep encouraging me. But they were so sad in their eyes looking at me while I was torturing myself. They could not help me beyond comforting me with their words."
