Television commercials about skin whitening creams and facemasks have made the stereotype around fairer skin more prominent. However, this prejudice as fair-skinned is considered ideal for setting beauty standards. The competition is much higher in the glamour world.
Many fair-skinned models and actresses have achieved more success and stardom in the industry. Exceptions are always there, but the misconception that darker-skinned women are less desirable has existed in the country for many years. This is especially true for Bollywood actresses, who go to any length to get a fairer-looking skin. Kajol is one of the finest actresses in Bollywood, who is hailed for her effortless acting. The Bengali beauty flaunted her dusky skin tone during the initial phase of her career. However, over time, Kajol’s skin tone turned lighter.
As per multiple reports, the actress underwent skin melanin surgery, which lowers the concentration of melanin on the skin with the help of chemical compounds. If we compare Kajol’s earlier pictures, then the results are clearly visible.

The global sensation, Priyanka Chopra is another celebrity, who reportedly underwent skin-lightening treatments. If we compare pictures from Priyanka’s Miss World days, it is evident that she underwent some skin-lightening treatment for fairer skin.
