Sridevi was one of such stars who ruled the hearts of millions of her fans not just in India but all around the world. The legendary actress made her acting debut at the age of four with the Tamil film, Kandhan Karunai. After starring in innumerable regional films, Sridevi ventured into the Hindi film industry with the film, Solva Sawan in 1979. And the rest, as they say, is history!
Sridevi met the love of her life, Boney Kapoor, once she started out in the Hindi film industry. The couple worked together on films like Mr India, Roop Ki Rani Choron Ka Raja and Judaai. Boney and Sridevi got married while the latter was still married to his first wife, Mona Shourie, with whom he had two kids, Arjun Kapoor and Anshula Kapoor. Boney tied the knot with Sridevi in Shirdi in 1996. Later, the couple welcomed their two daughters, Janhvi Kapoor and Khushi Kapoor.

While Sridevi became the stepmother of Arjun and Anshula, she considered them her own children and loved them dearly. Previously, during an interview with Filmfare, the film producer shared how his doting wife took care of the four children. Sharing that Sridevi's priority has always been their children, Boney said:
"Her priority is our children. She constantly checks with me about Arjun and Anshula. Even if we’ve had a late night, say till 3 am, she’ll get up at 6.30 am, she’ll check whether the girls have had breakfast and will walk them up to the gate as they leave for school."
Further, in the same conversation, Boney Kapoor called his second wife "a devoted family person". He shared that when it comes to his parents or children, she would always go the extra mile to make sure that the family remained together. Boney was quoted as saying:
"She’s a devoted family person whether it’s with my parents or our children. When I celebrated my 50th birthday, all my children were present. And she’s always seen that the family remains together. She goes an extra mile for that."

Soon after his father's interview, Arjun Kapoor appeared on Karan Johar's infamous talk show, Koffee With Karan season 4 and talked about his family dynamics. The actor highlighted that their family dynamics were obviously complicated, but he still had immense respect for his father's wife, Sridevi. Arjun was heard saying:
"Of course, the dynamics are complicated. We'll never be normal like they show in the movies. But I am respectful towards her. She is my father's wife. And he is happy with her so that's important and we'll deal with it. You have to deal with it as it comes."
After Sridevi's sudden demise in February 2018, Arjun Kapoor and Anshula Kapoor reconnected with their father, Boney Kapoor, and their half-siblings, Janhvi and Khushi played a huge role in making it possible. In an interview with Harper's Bazaar India, Arjun confessed that he was holding onto things, knowingly or unknowingly, and it was therapeutic once he rekindled his relationship with his father.
Meanwhile, when Janhvi and Khushi appeared on Koffee With Karan season 8, the sister duo recalled how their step-siblings, Arjun and Anshula had helped them overcome their mother's tragic death. While The Archies actress shared that it felt nice to have more people whom she could call and ask stupid questions all the time, Janvhi added that they have a better support system now.
