Bollywood diva, Sridevi needs no introduction. The beautiful actress started her career as a child artist and won millions of hearts with her incomparable acting chops and divine beauty. However, in 2018, the diva's sudden demise left her massive fanbase heartbroken. For those who don't know, Sridevi died of accidental drowning in a Dubai hotel's bathtub. The incident left the diva's family in utter shock. Time and again, we have seen Sridevi's daughter, Janhvi, and hubby, Boney Kapoor, speaking about their Chennai home, wherein they still can feel the essence of the late actress. And yet again, Boney Kapoor opened up about the same.
In an interview with The New Indian Express, Boney Kapoor shared that initially, his daughters, Janhvi and Khushi Kapoor didn't visit their Chennai home too often initially, which is why he had to renovate their home. Talking more about the same, Boney mentioned:
"It’s very close to my heart, and I’ve renovated the whole house to seduce the children to come and stay there more often. When she passed away, and a year before that, the children weren’t very keen on travelling to Chennai, because they didn’t have friends there, and they’d grown up in Mumbai.”

In the same interview, Boney Kapoor shared more details about the renovation of his family home in Chennai and stated that he had to get the house's first floor and guest block redone. Sharing more details about the same, Boney stated:
"Only the living room was used, and our room was used, but the rest of the rooms were locked. When rooms are locked, they get spoiled by moisture, so the entire house had to be redone. The ground floor was fine, but the first floor and guest block had to be renovated. Sri and I had made the guest block back in the day for Anil, Sanjay, our sister, and and our parents. The rooms all there still, but now Khushi and Janhvi have their own space now.”
Further, in the interview, Boney Kapoor shared that whenever he lives in that house, he feels like he is living with his late wife, Sridevi. The filmmaker said that he had several fond memories with Sridevi in that house, even from their courtship period. Boney said that he often recalls how they used to sit together and how he used to keep staring at her. Mentioning that he feels that the vibes are still there, Boney stated:
"I have fond memories of time spent with her there, even before marriage, when I was courting her, I recall where I used to sit and look at her. The vibes are still there."

In the same interview, Boney Kapoor opened up about the sudden demise of Sridevi. The filmmaker shared that his wife's death was accidental. Talking more about the same, Boney shared that during the time the diva died, she was on a strict diet, and she often used to starve. Boney mentioned that the late actress wanted to make sure that she was in shape to look good on screen. He further added that Sridevi had blackouts on several occasions, and she even faced the same kind of incident as Dubai earlier. Boney said Nagarjuna told him that during one of her shoots for a film, Sridevi fainted in the bathroom and broke her teeth, and again during that time, she was on a strict diet.

Earlier, in an interview with Vogue, Janhvi Kapoor gave an inside tour of her Chennai home, owned by her parents, Sridevi and Boney Kapoor. The house spoke nothing more than luxury. From the lush green veranda, huge living room, Boney Kapoor's small office to the memorabilia wall, everything just spoke of sheer elegance. According to Janhvi, their Chennai home still has the energy of her mother, Sridevi, in every corner of it.
