Boney Kapoor has been in the Hindi film industry for over 43 years. He has established himself in Bollywood as an eminent producer and an amazing actor. He started his journey in the industry by producing the blockbuster film, Hum Paanch in 1980. Later, he went on to produce superhit films like Mili, Wanted, Thuniu, Mom, Mr. India and many more. Talking about his personal life, Boney Kapoor was born to Surinder Kapoor, who was a film producer and his wife, Nirmal Kapoor, in 1955. He got married twice. Before tying the knot with veteran actress, Sridevi in 1996, he was married to Mona Shourie. Presently, Boney is living a happy life with his kids, Arjun Kapoor, Anshula Kapoor, Janhvi Kapoor and Khushi Kapoor.
In his latest interview with ETimes, Boney opened up about his first film, Hum Paanch. For the unversed, the film was a huge commercial success and it made a blockbuster debut for Boney. Talking about the same, he recalled how he needed all the actors in the film to be together even when they were not shooting. Mentioning how the veteran actor, Sanjeev Kumar didn't agree to this term, Boney said:
"Every actor was signed. Whether we were shooting or not I wanted all the actors together. Everyone agreed except for Sanjeev Kumar. I told Sanjeev Kumar that I needed him only for 25 days. We shot in January and April and the film was over."

Further, in the same conversation, Boney revealed how the film's success turned the tables for his family. Elaborating more about it, the producer recalled that after the film became a hit, he was able to pay off his father's debt. He added that his father even suggested that he take a tour to London as he was left with 1 lakh rupees after the debt. In his words:
"Hum Paanch was released an it became a hit and we had enough money to pay off our dad's debts. One lakh rupees were left. So my father said, Boney, go abroad. Anil, Sanjay, Reena all have been abroad, but you haven't. Go to London."
Boney also revealed that he told his father that he would travel in first class and not economy class. Mentioning the reason behind the same, the producer stated that he would not have been able to stay in a hotel for Rs. 30,000 if he had travelled economy class as the tickets were Rs. 70,000. Boney added that he didn't want to stay at any relative's house either.

In the same interview, Boney talked about his late wife, Sridevi and mentioned if he regrets the latter not watching their daughter, Janhvi's debut film, Dhadak. Talking about the same, the producer revealed that they had watched the film's rushes when Sridevi was alive.
