The NCB director, Sameer Wankhede was the man behind the high-profile case of Aryan Khan’s cruise drug case. Aryan Khan’s case brought a lot of A-listed celebs of Bollywood into the limelight. However, Sameer was accused of taking a bribe of Rs. 25 crores for not framing Shah Rukh Khan’s son, Aryan Khan.
And now, CBI has filed an FIR against the former NCB officer, Sameer Wankhede and a search operation was carried out at 29 locations across Delhi, Mumbai, Ranchi and Kanpur against Sameer and four others. The official also revealed that they got information about Sameer and four others who had taken Rs. 50 lakhs in advance.

The CBI booked Sameer and others for alleged criminal conspiracy, and threat of extortion after a complaint filed by the NCB. As per a CBI spokesperson:
“It has been alleged that the said officials of the Narcotics Control Bureau of Mumbai Zone, in order to obtain undue advantage from the persons and others in the Case No. 94/2021... registered and investigated under the supervision of then Zonal Director of Mumbai Zone of NCB, had entered into criminal conspiracy with others and allegedly obtained undue advantage in the form of bribes from the alleged accused.”
And now, Sameer reacted to the FIR filed by CBI and stated that he will fight till his death. Talking to ETimes, Sameer said:
“I will fight till death, My children who are just two years old are fighting 12 people. My father who is 70-plus years old is battling 7 to 8 people. Same is the case with my in-laws. For the media this is just a piece of news but for me it is the security of my family, which is my priority. We have been living under threat.”

For the unversed, on October 3, 2021, Shah Rukh Khan and his family got the biggest shock of their lives when the Narcotics Control Bureau arrested his son, Aryan Khan. The NCB had raided a party on a Goa-bound cruise ship, and it was alleged that Aryan was booked for the consumption of drugs. After 26 days, on October 28, 2021, Aryan was granted bail by the Bombay High Court due to lack of evidence.
On May 27, 2022, Aryan Khan got a clean chit from the NCB.
