Age, gender, caste, religion and other factors have never stopped anyone from finding their one true love. And if you believe that these kinds of love stories just exist in some fantasy books, then we would like to burst your little bubble. In today's time, there are still a few love stories that did not pay much heed to what people had to say about their love and proceeded to live their happily ever after.
A few Bollywood couples fell completely and madly in love with each other and decided to give love a chance even if their age gap, which is generally not acceptable in Indian society, became a hurdle in their path to union. They decided to let fate play the cupid, that ultimately brought them together for eternity. Mohammed Yusuf Khan, aka Dilip Kumar and his partner for life, Saira Banu, have shared a relationship that has lasted over five decades. Their love story is considered a story for the ages, more romantic than anything that Bollywood movies can ever depict. The couple was married for 55 years until Dilip Kumar's demise in 2021. During their decades long marital bliss, the couple went through many ups and downs. Saira had been in love with the legendary actor since she was 12, but he fell for her when he saw her at her 22nd birthday party. He immediately knew that she was the ‘one’ for him.
Dilip Kumar proposed to Saira Banu after getting the blessings of their respective families, and she quickly agreed despite having an age gap of 22 years. They got married in 1966 when Saira was only 22, and Dilip was 44. The couple never had any children. In his autobiography, Dilip Kumar: The Substance and the Shadow, the actor revealed that his wife had conceived in 1972, but developed complications during the pregnancy, which led to the child’s death. Following this, they never tried to have children again, believing it to be ‘God’s will.’ In the same book, Dilip Kumar also went on to discuss his ill-fated second marriage to Asma Rehman in 1982, 16 years after he tied the knot with Saira. He called it the only regret in his life.
The newest couple in the town, Arbaaz Khan and Sshura Khan have one of the most endearing love stories. While the 56-year-old actor is well-known for his roles in several popular Hindi films, Sshura is a 31-year-old celebrity makeup artist. The two first met on the set of Arbaaz’s upcoming movie, Patna Shukla. Despite having an age gap of 25 years, Arbaaz and Sshura eventually fell in love. However, they kept their relationship under wraps till the week leading up to their wedding ceremony.

The two got married in an intimate nikah ceremony that took place at Arbaaz’s sister, Arpita Khan Sharma’s place on December 24, 2023. Later on, Sshura revealed that her now-husband, Arbaaz had asked for her hand in marriage on December 19, 2023. She even uploaded an adorable video of the proposal on her official Instagram account. The newlyweds look head over heels in love with one another, which is evident in the pictures and videos shared from their wedding ceremony.
