'Celebrity Masterchef' Tejasswi Prakash Gets Teary-Eyed As She Recalls Mom's Struggle, 'Would Go...'

Celebrity Masterchef has almost reached its finale and is getting tougher with every passing task. Nonetheless, the more challenging and surprising the show gets for the contestants, the more intriguing it becomes for the viewers. While we wait to see who will solidify their place in the grand finale and take home the trophy of Celebrity Masterchef. Things got emotional on the set as Tejasswi Prakash was reminded of her mother's struggle. 

Tejasswi Prakash gets emotional as she recalls her mother's past struggle

Tejasswi Prakash has made her mark on the Celebrity Masterchef stage. Not only has she earned several praises and 'spoon taps' from the judges, Tejasswi also earned chef Ranveer Brar's famous knife. For the unversed, Ranveer hands out a special knife to one contestant every season. Tejasswi also had emotional moments on the show in the latest episode; she was seen getting teary-eyed recalling her mother's struggles, bringing her up all alone. 

The Holi special episode on Celebrity Masterchef brought back the hard work and struggle Tejasswi's mother went through when she was raising her. For the special segment, the contestants were joined by their one family member, and Tejasswi’s mother joined her for the latest challenge. During a candid interaction with Farah Khan and Chef Ranveer Brar, Tejasswi spoke about her mother and shared:

"My father used to work in Jeddah, so he was always in Saudi. My mother has brought us up all alone, and it’s very difficult raising two kids, especially when one of them is a girl. When we went through financial crunch, she would go door to door to sell policies."

In the same conversation, Tejasswi Prakash recalled how they were financially struggling, and her mother was her source of support. She revealed that she would assure her that something would happen. Reflecting on her mother's sacrifices, she shared that once, she asked her mother for a car, and her mother mortgaged her bangles for her. She stated:

"There was no money at that time, so what could I do? She has always been very supportive and would assure me that something would happen. I have even sold onions when needed. Once, I told my mother that I wanted a car, so she mortgaged her bangles. I came home and saw her hands, and asked her where the bangles were. It sounds filmy, but she did that, and I was like we will go and get them back right now. That car saw everything."

Tejasswi Prakash's mother shared how proud she was of her daughter

Further in the interaction, Tejasswi's mother revealed that the actress would take care of her younger brother when she was out selling policies. She added that Tejasswi was already a winner, and she was extremely proud of her. Tejasswi also recalled her modelling gigs and shared:

"I was getting paid Rs. 5000 for two days for walking in a fashion show, and I gave that money to her."
