Vikas Khanna is one of the most renowned and celebrated chef and culinary expert of our country. Not just in India, he has manifested the magic of his unique recipes worldwide, be it through serving International delegates and foreign nations, or by launching his handpicked restaurants abroad. While his professional life doesn’t need much introduction, it is his personal life which seldom garners limelight. For the unversed, the 52-year-old culinary genius is a happy bachelor. And recently, he talked about the same.
In an interview with Bombay Times, Vikas Khanna opened up about an unheard chapter of his life, and revealed why he hasn’t been successful with any relationship in his life. The talented chef remarked how he became so busy with his professional career and goals in life, that he lost out on the ability to keep his relationships alive. Adding how he was close enough to getting married thrice, Vikas said:
“I feel I got too busy focussing on my professional goals and purpose in life and that’s why I could not keep my relationships going. In fact, I came close to getting married thrice, but things didn’t work out. And it was always my mistake, my ambition got in the way. There were so many other things to do-films, documentaries, books, research projects and more.”

Having faced so many setbacks in his personal life, Vikas mentioned that even today, he is ready with open doors to welcome love into his life. He remarked his belief in love is strong, and he hasn’t given up on it. Moreover, Vikas revealed that he is very sure in his mind about the kind of life partner he wants in his life. In his words:
“Love can happen at any point in life and I am not giving up on that. But, I am quite clear about the kind of companion I am looking for.”
For the unversed, Vikas Khanna is not just a talented chef, but also an excellent writer and filmmaker. His next film project is based on a book he wrote in 2011, and would feature Shabana Azmi as the main lead. When asked if amid all of it, his passion for cooking has taken a back seat, Vikas Khanna revealed:
“No, both cooking and films are my passion. Both are stressful, but I enjoy the process. Cooking will always be my first love.”

Back in November 2023, Vikas Khanna joined Ranveer Allahabadia’s podcast, wherein he opened up about the most tragic moments of his life. The chef revealed that his sister, Radhika Khanna’s demise in March 2022 was the most unfortunate turn of events in his life. He stated that his sister meant the world to him and he was completely shattered when she passed away.
