Deepika Padukone and Ranveer Singh are currently on cloud nine, as they are expecting their first child together. For the unversed, they have been married for more than five years as of now. After dating for a few years, Deepika and Ranveer tied the knot in an intimate ceremony in Italy in November 2018. Since then, they never miss a chance to paint the town with their mushy glimpses. And now, their fans are elated to know that the couple is going to be parents soon.
On February 29, 2024, Deepika Padukone and Ranveer Singh took to their respective IG handles and shared a collaborative post to announce their 'good news'. The couple left their entire fanbase into a meltdown as they revealed that they are going to be parents soon. Atop the picture, the couple penned a note and revealed that their baby will arrive in this world in September 2024.

The rumours about Deepika Padukone's pregnancy ignited after she was seen clad in a Sabyasachi saree on the 77th British Academy of Film and Television Arts (BAFTA) red carpet. Later, in a report in the magazine, The Week, a source close to Deepika Padukone and Ranveer Singh revealed that the duo is expecting their first child. The source further mentioned that Deepika is in her second trimester of pregnancy.
Earlier, in an interview with Vogue Singapore, Deepika Padukone was asked about her thoughts on embracing motherhood and starting a family. Responding to the same, the actress enthusiastically stated that she and Ranveer are looking forward to the day when they will start their own family. She added:
"Absolutely. Ranveer and I love children. We look forward to the day when we will start our own family."

In the same interview, Deepika shared that she wishes to raise her children the way her parents raised her. The actress added that when she reconnects with people from her past, they often tell her about how she has remained unchanged. Talking about the solid upbringing she experienced, Deepika shared that she and Ranveer hope to inculcate the same values in their children. In her words:
"When I meet the people I have grown up with, they always mention how I haven't changed one bit. That says a lot about our upbringing. My family keeps me grounded and Ranveer and I hope to inculcate the same values in our children."
