The B-town is known for its glamourous, high-end, star-studded Diwali parties, but, owing to the pandemic, not a lot of stars are hosting Diwali parties this year. After the Bachchan family, Deepika Padukone and Ranveer Singh are also amongst people, who are having a low-key Diwali celebration this year.
In an interview with Hindustan Times, Deepika Padukone talked about her feelings towards celebrating Diwali right in the middle of the pandemic, and said, "Honestly, we are going to keep things quiet low key, keeping in the mind the sensitivity (of the situation) towards the environment and the people around us." She further added, "It’s been a difficult year for many in different ways [owing to the pandemic]. So, what we intend to do is, to stay at home, do a simple pooja and spend time with family. Normally, that’s what we, anyway, do."
Earlier, in an interview with The Times of India, Ranveer Singh had talked about how he had spent the lockdown with his wife, Deepika Padukone. He had shared that life had gotten too busy after their marriage, but this sudden break had helped the couple rediscover each other. The actor had said, "In a way, this lockdown period has been well-timed for me. I get this time to introspect, to focus on myself. As actors you say you are the player and you are the instrument - this body that we have, this mortal vessel that we have - we are the players and this is our instrument. So, to able to focus on myself, to be able to get time with my wife has been really good. After we got married, it was crazy busy for both of us. So it’s given time to rediscover each other in a different way, bond with each other." (Also Read: Chiranjeevi Konidela Tests Negative For COVID-19, Reveals Why He Tested Positive In Earlier Results)
In a conversation with Pinkvilla, Deepika had spoken about her life with Ranveer and what is the one advice that her parents and in-laws had given them. Talking about the advice, Deepika had revealed, “It's fun. Marriage is a lot of fun, at least for now. When I say this to his parents or my parents, they say, 'Wait for 35 years, you will know'. Maybe we will figure out 35 years later what it will be like then. We don't want to assume that it's going to be a certain way. For now, it's great and fun."

The doting bahu, Deepika had also talked about her equation with her in-laws in an interaction with the Filmfare. The actress had stated, "It’s interesting. For his father, I’m like a daughter. But for his mom, I’m like a friend, a beti also. I can tell her my deepest darkest secrets. It’s stupid to explain because I can’t even put it into words. There’s nothing that I have to keep from them. They are like my parents now, they are my family. Uncle is emotional, he breaks down easily. Mum’s an absolute chiller. Like she will party with the youngsters till eight in the morning." (Don't Miss: Amitabh Bachchan, Jaya Bachchan And Shweta Bachchan's Throwback Picture Exudes A 'Happy' Diwali Vibe)
