In an interview with Femina a few months back, Ranveer Singh gave an insight into their married lives and had said, “Now, we’re cocooned in love, and there is no space for doubt or misgiving. When asked if he and Deepika Padukone fight from time to time, Ranveer Singh had a short and to-the-point response. He had stated, "We don't fight." Revealing that one of the best things about being married to Deepika is being able to see a part of her that the rest of the world doesn't, Ranveer had continued, "There is a child-like quality to her that nobody other than me has the privilege of seeing. It’s a precious part of my life."
A while back, Deepika had taken to Instagram and posted an adorable picture which consisted of a lot of warmth, smiles and cuddles. Sharing the picture with hubby, Ranveer Singh and her sister, Anisha Padukone, Deepika had written, “Cuddles & snuggles! smashed in the middle! @ranveersingh @anishapadukone.” To which, Ranveer had commented, “snugglesssss”, which was backed by a zillion heart emojis, whereas sister, Anisha had replied, “Sunday club” beneath the picture, which too, was backed by a red heart emoji.
Soon after her wedding with Ranveer Singh, people started wondering if Deepika Padukone too, like some of her fellow actresses, will change her name post-marriage or not. And just like Sonam Kapoor Ahuja’s husband, Anand Ahuja added Sonam’s initial ‘S’ to his name and became Anand S Ahuja, will Ranveer also add his wife’s name or initials to his name? In an interaction with the Hindustan Times, when Deepika was asked whether her husband, Ranveer is planning to add her surname to his name, she had retorted, "It's not true. In fact, after that interview, I realised that it's a conversation that Ranveer and I have never even had.”
Deepika Padukone had further added, “So, we haven't been like 'oh so do you think you need to change your surname?' That (chat about it in an interview) was, of course, a joke of sorts. It has never crossed either of our minds. When I was asked I was like 'oh, we haven't even thought about it.' Maybe, because it's not important. Also, I've worked extremely hard to create my identity and so has he. So my question is, 'why would he have to do that?' I think what people see of us is a very minuscule part of our entire being and existence. But at the core of it, we are very alike."
