Tujh Sang Bair Lagaya Aisa… Raha Na Main Phir Apne Jaisa… Ye Laal Ishq, Ye Malaal Ishq… Ye Aib Ishq, Ye Bair Ishq- when we saw Deepika Padukone and Ranveer Singh’s steamy romance in this song, did we all, for a moment, wanted something brewing between them off-screen too? And the Universe worked in our favour and it was from the very sets of the film that the world got an exemplar of what we call #CoupleGoals! 6 years into their relationship, Deepika and Ranveer had tied the knot with each other in Italy and our heart still yearns for more pictures from their wedding! It was on November 14-15, 2018, when Deepika Padukone and Ranveer Singh had entangled themselves in the bond of holy matrimony. With not even a month left for them to celebrate their one-year anniversary, we are oh-so-excited to see how this two would wish each other! As they near the completion of a very happy one-year of wedded bliss, Deepika, in an interview with Harper’s Bazaar US, bared it all out on her equation with her hubby, Ranveer, reasons for not living in with him before their wedding and pre-decided thoughts on raising a child with her equally superstar hubby.
Deepika Padukone and Ranveer Singh had gotten married as per two wedding customs, a Konkani and a Sindhi wedding. But do you know that the two weren’t keen on having a traditional wedding in the first place? Revealing what made her finally opt for one, the Chaapaak actress shared, “There was a lot of temptation to move away from the traditional, especially for the two of us, who are constantly travelling, but it was important to me. Ranveer has always been okay with whatever. He’s always said, ‘Whatever makes you happy makes me happy.’ But for me, it’s about wanting to do everything at the right time. It’s how I saw my parents do it, so I didn’t know any other way."
Deepika Padukone and Ranveer Singh were already engaged and rokafied years before their wedding. Spilling the beans on why they didn’t live-in together, Deepika stated, "If we had started living together earlier, then what would we be discovering later on? That’s what this year has been, living together and discovering each other. I like to say we made the best decision of our lives. I know people are cynical about marriage, but that hasn’t been our experience. We believe in the institution, and we’re enjoying every bit of it." And then came about Deepika Padukone’s most beautiful revelation on how she would want to raise her child with Ranveer Singh, whenever they start a family. The 33-year-old star said, “My sister and I had two working parents who were still able to give every aspect of their lives, time, and dignity, whether it’s work or being home with us. I hope that when Ranveer and I start a family, we’re able to do it the way I experienced it as a child with my parents. Just rooted, wholesome and secure."

Deepika Padukone and Ranveer Singh had gotten married in Italy but the exact destination was Villa del Balbianello, an exotic villa overlooking Lake Como. Speaking about why they chose such a far-off and unique destination, Deepika quipped, “[Finding] a place that would feel private was the top priority. And we both love the water, so to be surrounded by water was important." To back it up with a slight research from our end, if you are a Hollywood movie buff, you must have had multiple glimpses of their wedding venue as a wide array of famous Hollywood movies have been shot there namely, A Month by the Lake (1995), His Demise, Casino Royale (2006) and also Star Wars: Episode II Attack of the Clones (2002).
Also, as stated earlier by sources, Deepika Padukone and Ranveer Singh had ensured full privacy at their wedding. To give you a recap of the measures undertaken by the stars to ensure maximum privacy, the guests were provided with special wrist bands which symbolised that they were a part of the guest list. Security guards had sealed the camera lenses of the mobile phones of the guests, lest fearing the leakage of any off-guard pictures. To top it all, numerous security guards were on constant patrol on the outskirts of the venue. And do you know how much the superstars had shelled out on security purposes? Reportedly, the couple had spent almost Rs 1 crore for security purposes for just one week! In an interview with Express.co.uk sometime back, Deepika Padukone had opened up about the pressure newlywed women face when it comes to pregnancy. Here’s what the actress was quoted as saying, “Pregnancy will happen at some point in my life. It is unfair to put women and a couple through that pressure.” She had further went on to add that the day people stop asking questions related to pregnancy to a woman is when the change will come. Here's what Deepika had said, “Of course, it will happen at some point but no, I think it is unfair to put women through that, to put a couple through that. I guess the day we stop asking the questions is when we will bring about change.”
With such beautiful views, we are sure that Deepika and Ranveer will be fantastic parents! Won’t they?
