Deepika Padukone's 'Subhagyavati Bhava' Lehenga Is Still The Most Loved Wedding Outfit Among Brides

Deepika Padukone and Ranveer Singh got married on November 14, 2018, in an intimate ceremony surrounded by friends and family at Villa del Balbianello in Lake Como, Italy. Their wedding was a true fairytale, and Deepika's ensembles will forever remain on every bride's wish list. Deepika was a true Sabyasachi bride, with most of her outfits, from the first ceremony, the Nandi Puja, to her main day attire, all were designed by Sabyasachi Mukherjee.

Weddings are among the most beautiful and significant events in a couple's life; they celebrate not just the love shared by two people but also the merging of two families. A bride's ensemble carries her dreams in every thread, her love for her soon-to-be husband in every stitch, and her memories with her family in every sequin.

That is why a bride's ensemble is more than just an outfit, and Sabyasachi beautifully channelled every emotion into Deepika's wedding attire. Deepika Padukone had taken a 6-8 month break from shooting to prepare every minute detail of her wedding. She sat with Sabyasachi, ironing out every detail of what she envisioned for her dream wedding outfit.

Soon after the wedding, Deepika Padukone and Sabyasachi Mukherjee sat down for an interview together, and  Sabyasachi revealed how the creative process was working with Deepika Padukone. He shared that it was wonderful working with the B-Town star, as sometimes the most painful thing for a designer is a clueless bride. The designer shared that when a bride doesn't know what she wants or why they are getting married, it can be really difficult for them to design a fit. He said:

"You know, it was wonderful working with Deepika. You know sometimes, the most painful thing that can happen to a designer is that the bride does not know what they want. Sometimes they don't even know why are they are getting married or who they are getting married to."

While discussing Deepika Padukone's bewitching wedding attire, Sabyasachi shared that Deepika knew exactly what she wanted. She knew the colour of her outfit, as well as the jewellery and flowers she wanted. Sabyasachi humorously added that she knew what food was being served. He said:

"Deepika knew everything, she knew who she was getting married to and why she was getting married. She knew the colour of her outfit, she knew the jewellery that she wanted to wear, her flowers. She even knew the idly and the South Indian coffee that was going to be served to the guests when they woke up every morning. They flew down all the caterers from South India."

In a pastel bride era, Deepika Padukone's red ensemble remains a bride's favourite

In the last six years, bridal trends have heavily shifted towards a more pastel side. Brides prefer a pastel palette for their big-day look. However, even with the shift in the colour palette, some outfits remain as iconic as ever, and Deepika's wedding attire is one such ensemble. For her Sindhi wedding, our Chennai Express actress went for a red outfit with statement jewellery pieces from the Sabyasachi Heritage Jewellery Collection. She added a traditional chooda, a simple nath and golden kaleere to complete her look.  Sabyasachi, Deepika Padukone, Ranveer Singh, DeepVeer

Weddings are beautiful. They celebrate love, togetherness, and a promise to stand by each other through everything. However, they are painful because how can something so full of love change so much? In a matter of seven pheras, two souls have to change their lives as and how they knew them. Weddings are emotional because so many emotions come together as one. Weddings are everything because there is nothing more precious than love, and a wedding is the most love one can have in one place.
