Delhi's Vada Pav Girl, Chandrika Gera Dixit, made it to the headlines when the controversy began around her after she organised a bhandara and was detained by the Delhi police. While some empathised with Chandrika, others remained unimpressed with the same. Chandrika and her husband, Yash Gera had left their full-time jobs to look after their unwell son. Chandrika earned fame with her famous Vada Pav in Delhi. For the unversed, she was earlier employed in Haldiram, and now, it's time for a big break for her as she is on the famous reality show, Bigg Boss OTT 3.
Since the last few days, reports have been rife that Chandrika Gera Dixit was approached for Bigg Boss OTT 3, but she didn't confirm the same. On June 16, 2024, Chandrika was spotted at the Mumbai airport with her husband and others. She looked unrecognisable and netizens started taking a dig at her. Meanwhile, others wondered if Vada Pav girl was in the city to be a part of Bigg Boss OTT 3.

Well, the rumours seem to be right as Vada Pav Girl, Chandrika Gera Dixit is a confirmed contestant of Bigg Boss OTT 3, and a recent promo released on Jio Cinema also featured her, wherein she can be seen preparing Vada Pav. Chandrika, in the promo, stated that she has always kept her family at the top, but those who questioned her remained only at her target. She finalised her line by saying that she is coming to Anil Kapoor's Bigg Boss OTT 3 to showcase her personality.
As soon as the promo was posted on the internet, netizens rushed to the comment section and reacted to Vada Pav Girl being a part of Bigg Boss OTT 3. Some users mentioned that the makers shouldn't have brought her to the show, and others stated that they were not going to watch the show anymore because of the choice of participants in it. Others remained in awe of Chandrika's journey so far. One user penned, "Bigg Boss ne apni standard"s hi giradi hai." Another user wrote, "Bas yahi bki tha." A third user commented, "Ab ye big boss ott me vada pav bech gi."

While conversing on RealHit's podcast, Chandrika Gera Dixit talked about facing trolls and mockery. She recalled being compared to Rakhi Sawant and mentioned how all of this took a toll on her. Chandrika added that she thought of taking her own life, and later, her husband and son helped her.
