Delnaaz Irani Shares How After Her Divorce From Rajeev Paul She Had A Loan, 'Bigg Boss' Helped Her

Delnaaz Irani was best known for her role as 'Sweetu Kapoor' in Shah Rukh Khan, Preity Zinta and Saif Ali Khan starrer, Kal Ho Naa Ho. The actress was married to Rajeev Paul back in 1998, and it was in 2012 that she put an end to her 14-year-old-long marriage. The actress was also known for her role as 'Kavita Bose' in Yess Boss. It was tough for the actress to quit her marriage after 14 years. However, even after her divorce, Delnaaz had financial burden on her head which she got rid of due to Bigg Boss.

Delnaaz Irani credits Bigg Boss for helping her with her financial stress

Delnaaz, in the latest interview with The Free Press Journal's chat titled, Sheroes revealed what led to the fallout of her and Rajeev's marriage. She admitted that after getting separated from Rajeev, she was dealing with a set of financial challenges and credited the Bigg Boss show for helping her come out of the same. In her words:

"I was going through a bad phase personally when we (Rajeev Paul and I) were separated. I was going through my divorce and I had a loan on my head which I had to pay off. It was for my house and I had had a big fat loan. So, by the grace of God, I got Bigg Boss and paid it off with the money I earned from the show. I don’t think there was anything major."

Delnaaz Irani shares what Bigg Boss taught her

Delnaaz, going ahead in the interview, shared that she learnt a lot via Bigg Boss and it was an extremely complicated and challenging phase. Delnaaz revealed that she was going through her divorce in July and got offered the show in September. So, within a few months of her divorce, she was very vulnerable, and then she was not alone. If she was alone, she would have been in a better space. Delnaaz also shared that it was difficult for her as her ex-husband was in front of her eyes, which made it more difficult for her.

Delnaaz Irani reveals how she came out of her divorce from Rajeev Paul

Delnaaz revealed that it was tough for her to come out of the emotionally challenging phase of her separation. She revealed that she has been a very happy person who does not take any situation very seriously and even with the downs in life, she thinks this too shall pass. It’s not like she didn't have tears or did not cry. In her words:

"I didn't have my difficult situation but coming out of a particular situation is more important than crying over it. I didn’t want to lead a life where I was miserable or I had to lie to myself."

Delnaaz Irani shares that there was no love left in her relationship with Rajeev Paul

Delnaaz revealed, earlier in an interview with the Screen, that when she was out of the marriage way before, she got out of the marriage. Delnaaz shared that Rajeev kept denying the same, but he had even moved apart. She revealed that Rajeev never wanted to say it or has never said it, but sometimes there is no love or respect. In her words:

"For me, it is very important to have respect in the relationship. Today, when I say I love Percy, there is a lot of respect for the man. When there is no respect in the relationship, it’s best to move out."
