For the wedding, Dia Mirza had looked graceful as ever in a red Banarasi saree with gold jewellery, green Maharashtrian bangles and gajra accentuating her look. Vaibhav had complemented her well in a white kurta-pyjama with a matching Nehru jacket. The couple had looked like a match made-in-heaven on their D-day and had given us some major couple goals with their surreal wedding.
On February 18, 2021, Dia Mirza took to her Instagram handle and shared a beautiful picture with her husband, Vaibhav Rekhi from their wedding ceremony. In the picture, the adorable couple looked stunning in their respective outfits, as they can be seen performing some wedding rituals while sitting on the mandap with a lady priest. Along with the picture, Dia Mirza addressed many questions about her wedding like the reason behind her decision to go for a lady priest and the designing of the wedding decor with biodegradable products. The actress started her long note stating that she was utterly delighted to get married in the same garden of her house, where she has spent the last 19 years of her life. Her note can be read as "The garden where I have spent every morning for the past 19 years was an absolutely magical setting and the most intimate and perfect space for our simple and soulful ceremony!" Going further in her note, Dia Mirza revealed that she is proud of her decision of ditching plastic and other non-biodegradable materials for the decor of their wedding. She said, "We are so proud to have been able to organise a completely sustainable ceremony without plastics or any waste. The materials used for the minimal decor we went for were completely biodegradable and natural." After which, Dia addressed her much-celebrated and praised move of bringing a lady priest for the Vedic ceremony. The actress labelled it as the 'highest point' of her entire wedding. She continued, "The highest point for us was the Vedic ceremony conducted by a woman priest! I had never seen a woman performing a wedding ceremony until I attended my childhood friend Ananya's wedding a few years ago. Ananya's wedding gift to Vaibhav and me was to bring Sheela Atta, who is her aunt and also a priestess, to perform the ceremony for us."
In her inspiring note, Dia Mirza also thanked her friend, Ananya for making her wedding a special one, as she feels privileged and happy to be able to get married in this beautiful manner. She added, "She also painstakingly went through several hours of training to imbibe the essence of the scriptures so that she could assist Sheela Atta and translate the shlokas! It was such a privilege and a joy to be married this way! We do hope with all our heart that many more couples make this choice. For it is a woman's soul that contains love, wonder, benediction, magical energy, tenderness and deep empathy for all that lives."

At the end of her note, Dia Mirza revealed the reason and inspiration behind her decision of saying no to ceremonies like kanyadaan and vidaai. She concluded her note by saying, "It is time for women to own their own agency, their divinity, their power and to redefine what is old and birth what is new. As Charles Bukowski said, "there is no lie in their fire." So what can be more uplifting and empowering than to see the sacred fire within a woman's heart and soul taking centre stage at a wedding? I am still overwhelmed by the magic of this one moment. Also, we said NO to 'Kanyadaan', and 'Bidaai' change begins with choice, doesn't it? #GenerationEquality #SunsetkeDiVaNe #ThankYouPreeta.” (Also Read: Nidhi Dutta's Bridal Shower Attended By Amrita Singh, Soni Razdan Ahead Of Wedding With Binoy Gandhi)
