We live in a world that constantly judges women and believes that a woman is a woman's worse enemy. But Bollywood actress, Dia Mirza bursts the myth as she stands up for her colleague and writer, Kanika Dhillon, who has been falsely accused of being the reason behind her separation. Dia Mirza had left everyone shocked when she had announced her divorce with husband, Sahil Sangha after five years of marriage. It instantly became a piece of juicy news for the media mills and gossipmongers who started linking things and creating facts that were not there. On the same day, Judgementall Hai Kya writer, Kanika Dhillon too had shared her separation from husband and director, Prakash Kovelamudi. And soon, stories were made and the news was shared that Sahil has an affair with Kanika.
When Dia came to know about the news, she instantly took to her Twitter handle and cleared the air surrounding the rumours. The actress shared a series of tweets, wherein, she wrote, "This is to clarify and put to rest all kind of speculation that is being bandied about by a certain section of the media regarding my separation with Sahil. It is most unfortunate to see the level of irresponsibility exercised. What is even more unfortunate is that our colleagues names are being tarnished and maligned by this media. As a woman, I will not stand for another woman’s name being used so irresponsibly to perpetuate a lie. There is absolutely no truth to the alleged reports and no third person is the reason for Sahil and me to part ways. We have requested the media to be graceful and allow us this time for some privacy. Really hope they can respect that."

Much love and a big hug!" The actress further replied, "I am so sorry Kanika that people can be so disgraceful. All my love to you."

Kanika had also denied the news as soon as it started spreading by the tabloids. She had taken to Twitter and had tweeted, "Laughable. despicable, irresponsible! Fiction writing is my job! Can tabloids b a little more responsible pls? Just because two news items come at the same time. They can’t b interlinked! It’s not a potpourri! Have NEVER met Dia or Sahil in my ENTIRE life! Please get over it and let us get back to work!"

Coming back to Dia and Sahil's love story, in an interview with The Times of India, Dia had opened up about the man in her life. She had shared, "I like his mind the most, his values, the way he thinks. I have never seen him treat people differently. That, for me, is the biggest thing. It’s rare to come by a person who has the ability to put everyone before themselves and to just treat everybody with dignity. In my mind, I have been married to Sahil from the day we have known each other. I am a great believer in God’s timing. And there must be a reason why it didn’t happen when it didn’t. But I think, now more than ever, I want to be married to him. We have fixed October 2014 and if it doesn’t happen then, I will not marry him." In an interview with IDiva, Dia had talked about how they fell in love. She had said, "I am seeing Sahil. It’s hilarious because my executive producer just a few weeks ago told me, ‘Today, in the meeting I realised that you and Sahil are dating.’ I asked her, ‘You’ve been on the film for so long and you didn’t pick this up before?’ I guess it was just the most natural thing to have happened. I instinctively gravitated towards Sahil." (Also Read: Dia Mirza And Sahil Sangha Reveal The Truth Behind His Affair Being Main Reason For Their Separation)
She had further stated, "I don’t think he ever thought we’d be together. Initially, his entire need to communicate was professional. He was quite taken aback when he realised I had fallen for him. In fact, when certain sections of the media were talking about my breaking Arshad Warsi and Maria Goretti’s home, I was dating Sahil. I was single for three years before Sahil and I started seeing each other. So I keep teasing him that I got desperate and fell for the first cute guy I met."
On a more serious note, Dia had added, "There’s surely a sense of security. But love also brings tremendous pangs of fear, fear that the person you love will go away or the moment you’re enjoying will end. Sahil was busy as the director of the film. He’d be so absorbed in the shooting that I’d sulk once in a while when he didn’t ask me how I was doing on a particular day. But I did that in my private time. In life, at different times there are different roles we need to play. And partners should understand and respect the demands of that role."
