Dibakar Banerjee says no one cared about Sushant Singh Rajput’s death

Dibakar Banerjee recently appeared in Siddharth Kannan’s YouTube show, where he shared that when Sushant Singh Rajput passed away, the news of his demise was all over the news. It was getting difficult for him to see the news, and people were not mourning his death but were after the case to extract ‘spicy gossip’. Nobody was missing him or talking about his achievements; they acted as mere spectators to the death row. In Dibakar’s words:

“When he passed away, there was so much going on in the news about the cause of his death. I had to cut-off myself from everything. I was listening to everything but couldn’t hear anybody saying that a young actor died. I couldn’t see anybody around mourning him. All I could see was people trying to find out spicy gossip. So, I had to walk away from the situation. Nobody was saying that ‘We are missing Sushant’. Nobody was talking about how despite being an outsider he acted in television and finally made his debut in movies.”

Dibakar Banerjee added that everybody at that time was busy speculating about the supposed conspiracy behind Sushant's death and was not mourning the loss as they rightfully should have. There were no prayer meets over his death and no positive discussions praising his movies and performances. Insead, all were busy focusing on the natives of his death. Dibakar further added:

“Everyone was just speculating about the conspiracy, who gave drugs to Sushant, who murdered him. Where is that condolence meet? Where is the retrospective on his films? Those who loved him should have organised a screening of his movies and discussed about it. Why don’t we cherish all his good memories? Sushant Singh Rajput has become a gate to misery borne.”
